  1. http://www.msnbc.com/news/911372.asp What a drag, man.
  2. This is so damn funny. The DBBB is not a whit more complicated than the F.-8. It's just as safe, it's easier to untie after being weighted, it's compact, you'll never accidentally pull your not-fully-untied knot up to the anchors where it will then create a huge clusterhassle for you, and you're not likely to leave it half-tied and just hanging through your harness while you get distracted by something else. Indeed, why change a good thing? Because there's a better thing to change to. Sheesh! like i said bulk up those finger muscles! also don't get so distracted and pay the fuck attention and you won't forget to finish tying your knot. Cool, have fun wrestling with that fully welded figure-eight next time you take a few plummets from the route du jour. DFA will doubtless knock off several extra pitches as a direct result of not having to dink with a preposterously hyper-tight knot after every route. Sucker!
  3. Something about the Doctor's colorful vocabulary and glossy personality?
  4. Like there was no tomorrow. Why?
  5. Yeah. Quad-burning nightmare, but it's actually pretty fun. You new-schoolers using two aluminum ski poles and composite skis with hard plastic boots and cable bindings are really crazy insane, though. You should learn the correct way of doing it first, with some Hemlock planks, rabbit skin bindings, and a large pole for directional changes and balance. Honestly, you kids and your disdain for tradition ... it's a wonder you can even get down the hill!

  7. Can't believe you traddos are so caught up in your tradness that you are anti-newbs-learning-to-place-cams. Just because cams are new-school (they're only what, about 30 years old?) doesn't mean they aren't useful as fuck. How many routes do you climb and you place no cams at all? It would seem that, as a perfectly useful piece of protection, the cam would be an excellent thing to learn to use, and certainly no more or less useful than a nut or a hex or whatever. This "no, must learn to use most primitive tools available" attitude is so damn self-limiting; it's amazing some of you clowns aren't still using machine nuts on hemp cord. Learn to use all types of gear, and for goodness' sake, go sport climbing every once in a while and learn to have a good time and not take climbing so anal-retentive seriously that you find yourself unwilling to try something because it hasn't been around since 1950. That was fun.
  8. Nah, that's the DFA mack-dad' callin' the donkey-mounter a donkey-mounter. No cooking implements involved, neither pigmentation thereof.
  9. Piss-poor response, donkey-mounter.
  10. Who's getting angry? It's all cucumber-cool down here. 'cept being out of coffee is a little bit aggravating, if you know what DFA is saying.
  11. No, no; "assbrick", one word. Come on, get it together, pisswater! Fuckin' misusing the terminology and shit. Where do you get off, anyway?
  12. 'chootalkin'bout, holmes? Sounds like you're the one who can't take it; with your Carhartts or whatever you crack-wranglers wear all in a twist. Fuckin' cream-filled twink.
  13. "I'd like to have a word with you, Mr. Anderson ... "
  14. Nicely done. Hey, End Hits IS really poppy, you fuckin' bandwagon-hopping corporate whore sellout poseur wank!
  15. "FUCK YOU Mr. Bossman! FUCK YOU Mr. Bossman! FUCK YOU Mr. Bossman!" - VGS
  16. Yeah, it's really poppy, you're right. Almost indistinguishable from the latest Mariah Carey single. Fugazi totally sold out with this one, didn't they? Should have known when they did that in-studio gig on Z100 and started selling Fugazi t-shirts and wallets at Hot Topic that something was amiss. Time to sell all their albums and find a band to listen to that doesn't suck.
  17. No, thank you.
  18. Here, why don't you stick a #10 Hex up your shit-chute and keep your ankle-biting little quips to yourself? Assbrick.
  19. "memo to the partners: I'm changin' all the locks I'm pissin' on your modems I'm shreddin' all the stocks"
  20. Dr. Flash Amazing has been most impressed with 'The Argument' thus far. They got so many diff' styles and layers of instruments (two drummers and cellos and all that) and noise and what all ... seems like every listen reveals something new. It's a damn masterpiece. Although for a more aggro Fugazi, DFA finds himself reaching for 'In on the Kill Taker' time and again. Fuck, 'Smallpox Champion' alone is worth the price of admission (that'd be $8 postpaid); the rest of the album could've been techno a-capella Milli Vanilli covers and it still would've been a stellar album. Have another beer with FUGAZI!
  21. What is "pizdec" meaning, please?
  22. Upon completing the arduous over-and-around-the-barbed-wire, across-the-irrigation-canal, and down-the-vegetated-gravelly-slope approach to Smith's Upper Gorge and then plunking down the packs at the base of the warmup of choice, putting on the harness and racking up some draws: "You have the rope, right?" "What? Dude, YOU were bringing the rope!" B__ then goes to take a leak before hiking back out, and proceeds to sprain his ankle on the rocks by the river. We limp back to the car, and the entire day is shot.
  23. The double-bowline with a bowline backup unties itself? Love to see that happen, but can't imagine how it would? DBBB
  24. Actually, why would you use a figure 8 to tie in when the DBBB is smaller and you can actually untie it after dogging the hell out of some savage project? The fig. 8 is old-school, yo; get with the newness.
