Most of them (mcacin notably) dont since big business contributes heavily and it's always been easier for the Rs to raise money than the Ds gun control: this has been discussed enough environment: I choose to believe 95% of the scientific community over the republican propoganda machine. I believe we also need to lead global climate change not claim we'll change when the 3rd world does. foreign policy: i believe alienating our allies is idiotic church n' state: i think the constituion is pretty clearly on this. no school prayer, no faith based crap, thank you death penalty: no state sponsered killing in a civilized society, thank you. corporate/political coziness: this has more to do with our corrput administration, not a republican party platform. For the record, that was right above the hard glacier ice I climbed with a lightweight axe, alum crampons and a whippet. Am i pround I made it? hell yeah. Am I proud I tried it? Hell no, that was some stupid ass gear selection for that climb. I couldn't get a crampon in or an axe...it scared the shit out of me. Get out of the armchair and try it yourself if ya want... About the helmet...that was just dumb...forgot it, and I paid for it up high. I spent a good 20 minutes in fetal position covering my head.

I was reading their website. While most of their thinking is simplistic and unrealistic, I like their views on some other things: freedom of speech, sexual rights, and the war on drugs. I wish one of the major parties (well, it would be the Ds, never the Rs) would realize what a failure the "war on drugs" is... some of the shit is just plain funny: "the repeal of anti-racketeering statutes such as the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), which punish peaceful behavior -- including insider trading in securities, sale of sexually explicit material, and nonviolent anti-abortion protests -- by freezing and/or seizing assets of the accused or convicted; and" Yeah, insider trading shouldn't be illegal at all!

I dont have many *routes* i have climbed large number of times but it seems like i'll bunch up on peaks or areas. My biggest "bunch up" is probably the stuarts: d-tail (5 or 6), stuart (4), sherpa, colchuck (3),prusik, little anna. I've actually gotten a bit sick of that approach trail, as much as I love the area... Oh...and eldorado. I did that thing 3 times this spring alone and a total of like 6 times I think. NE face once, N ridge once and 4 on the east ridge. I dont think it's possible to get sick of the cascade pass area tho.

I think fuel cell technology is going to really change things in the way of electric vehicles. Waper vapor for exhaust...that's cool. it's true, older desiel vehicles put out a ton of particulates. Diesel isn't the smoking gun by any means. APparently the new deisel engines like the VW TDIs are nearly particulte free. I dont know what the difference in the engines is. Obviously watching any big desiel truck it's pretty obvious the amount of soot they put out.
