  1. Justin, I forgot to mention that I kept thinking it looked like you had waterskis strapped to your pack

    Wine Drinkers Only

I honestly think it was $2 chuck (or $3 chuck) that introduced wine to the underage drinking / college drinking crowd. It's as cheap to get drunk off $2 chuck as it is on shitty beer.
  3. Don't believe this guy for a second. Go check out that picture of him, he's a stick figure! I bet you could bench 150 max!

    9/11 hearings

I heard some of this coming back from the north cascades when 94.9 was the only thing that didn't come in statically. I wonder how much of this makes it wide-spread public. There is a lot of stuff that looks bad for BushCo and the other liars. Biggest example is the conclusion of zero connection between Iraq and Osama, like we didn't already know that.
  5. What about posting TRs of first ascents naming your company and in news release format?
  6. Well, after doing this I would say all in all it was close to a wash, but I think the bikes would be worth it if you are interested in saving all the time you can. First off, the road is closed 3/4 mile from the trailhead due to, yes, yet another road washout. After that you can ride about 1 1/2 miles of pretty easy terrain (only a couple pieces of windfall) until you get to a major washout that would be a major bitch to carry a bike over. Leaving the bikes at that point is probably your best bet. I would say it's worth having the bike more for the fun factor (assuming you have a somewhat reasonable pack weight) than the time savings.
  7. How good of a boarder are you? That's a commiting line. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some open cracks already. That glacier gets reeeally broken up later in the summer.
  8. Blake, you better hook me up with lots of free cookies this summer or I am posting your pic on to amihotornot.com heheheh
  9. Maybe they are doing the thing that resorts in the rockies typically do...measuring in a wind drift. If you've ever skied in UT or CO compare a 100" base there with a 100" base around here. It's night and day.
  10. So how far does that leave you from the downey creek trailhead? only a few hundred feet, right? Isn't the road end not much further too?

    Ford Escape Hybrib

Man my friend had a wrangler with the 4cyl in it. That had to be the most underpowered pile of crap I've ever driven. It was definitely fun driving over shit tho
  12. Paul, that is why I said go down the lyman glacier and back up. I think the trip down to lyman lakes is really need. The route you mentioned up over dumbell is one I have planned for this summer. It's all a really beautiful area.
  13. I like the S&M style choker around the neck
  14. Most definitely. Here is the easiest way I can think of. Park the car at trinity. Approach via buck creek pass, climb fortress, traverse across upper chiwawa basin to chiwawa and deproach via chiwawa valley. Here is the better way I can think of. leave a car at the phelps creek trailhead. Start like above but instead of going down chiwawa basin go down the lyman glacier. the climb back up to spider gap, and down and out through spider meadow. Ride the 4 mile phelps creek road (all downhilll) back to the car. I've been in all those places but never linked them together. It would be a great trip.

    Ford Escape Hybrib

Beck, how do you know this again? I've heard the honda and toyate hybrids aren't hitting their expected EPA ratings. Whatever their reasons, I'm glad to see it...it's a start. Lexus is releasing an RX300 hybrid. Considering it's based on a car platform, it may be a better vehicle. For fuel efficieny I guess the best thing out there is still VW TDIs. Release an AWD TDI GOLF and you'll have people lining up.
  16. Whoa, is that for real? Looks "cheap" and it doesn't look very comfortable to boot.
  17. Gotcha...makes sense now. Sounds like I'll be leaving the pedal powered device at home.
  18. Thanks Paul. How could you save 1 hour in only 2 miles? 2 miles only takes 40 minutes to walk.

    Ford Escape Hybrib

So this thing is coming out pretty soon. First off, I say two thumbs up to Ford. It hardly makes up for the Turdcursion and Suxpedition, but it's a good start. Does anybody else find this vehicle compelling? Granted, I'm not a SUV fan. More than the waste of everything they are, I just dont really like the styling. But, here you can get a vehicle with 4WD, a reasonable amount of gear hauling ability and very good gas milage. It's an interesting vehicle...
  20. Haven't see Fat_Woody around here spewing verbal diareha lately.
  21. I can't remember, but are bikes useful for the road section of the thornton lakes approach? I remember somebody talking about them, but maybe it was to say it is too overgrown for it to be useful
  22. Right Scott, and BushCo doesn't have an agenda!!! I've still got that oceanfront in arizona for sale, you interested?
  23. haha! awesome. I've heard the enchanted valley is gorgeous and extremely populated with bears. Does it open up to meadows higher up? Any pictures? thanks! -josh
  24. But Josh, logging is going to happen anyways somewhere. Why not salvage trees which have already been killed rather than ones which are completely healthy? Cause the timber companies already have enough land. That is what renewable forests or whatever they call them are for. rip down the trees then replant. The last thing we need is timber companies encroaching on land they aren't already on. I would think you would give in for the simple fact that two educated people, working on this issue, have told you that you are wrong would be enough to conceed and move on.
