I am kind of curious after all: how does it feel to bathe in the bile pit?
-
I acknowledge to be somewhat speechless here (for obvious reasons). I am sure you gained a lot of kudo points with these 'comments'. Keep going this is getting interesting.
-
well now there is something that's going to shut me up.
-
actually, I should definitely add that in my opinion you are a little too emotional to be a 'moderator' You're opinion means nothing bitch. fancy to see you respond to an opinion that means nothing

it is not really obvious what you contribute to this site beside this kind of intervention

isn't he the dude who within his first 5minutes on the board started to spitefully slander Allison on grounds totally unrelated to the thread? I thought that was totally disgusting, and if he is the person in question I am glad he got shitcanned. Yo, Dlunkdick: God, you're as bad as Tomcatshit. unlike you I don't need to hide behind a different handle to say my piece. troll. by the way mods, a while back I thought multiple avatars were being terminated. I am not necessarily against humorous multiple personalities but it is obvious some of these guys are not trying to be funny.

what do you mean by personal attacks? I think there is a big difference between someone reacting with angry words within the context of a thread and another using extraneous, vicious rumors to put another down (i.e. Allison aggressively discussing the identity of a poster and being called a whore in return - in the literal sense of the word). the exception to this may be that those who resort to such means leave themselves open to similar attacks (which clearly is not hte case with Allison). In general, I am not for banning people who have something to contribute which is clearly the case with Ray (although we haven't seen much of that recently). I also think the disrespectful humor is a good thing as long as it does not turn into character assassination. I understand that mods may find it difficult to draw the line, and perhaps it is the users themselves that should 'enforce' what is OK.

no no, you are mistaken. I am not in there with you. if you pay close attention you'll notice there is a big difference between my posts and yours.

I don't know allison and I don't care what you think of her (or me if it matters). Actually I don't perceive much of what she has to say as obnoxious, and certainly much less than many others around here. whatever she has done to you or others does not warrant continual sexual verbal abuse. you are right, you choose to place yourself in that pit. Don't expect me to follow you there.
-
he is probably right but how is she supposed to know that? what's the percentage of women raped at least once? not really, there are lots of people posting in spray who choose to stay away from that stuff. why would off topic posting have to result in exposure to systematic and vicious verbal abuse? she apparently does not want to and yet is almost systematically hounded every time she posts unfortunately it often translates into actual abuse it's not so much ray's poem in itself as the cumulation of sexual insults that have intensified in the recent past I am not arguing for getting rid of everything, because much of that stuff is done in good humor and or is done in the heat of the argument. What I object to is the hounding of a women with sexual slur. Allison is right! don't these guys have sisters, mothers and wives? and more than wanting moderation of the thread I meant to ask what those guys want to do with their site. I am sure most guys would not mind more women posting. so? off topic posting or spray is not necessarily equivalent to bathing in bile
-
and it does not take a brain surgeon to see that getting rid of abusers like you would increase the popularity of this site many fold and what would make you privy to this kind of information? whose avatar are you?
-
Allison, The verbal abuse you have been getting is totally out of line. I don't really understand this board policy with respect to verbal assaults but personally I don't see much difference between racism toward prominent US minorities (let's not talk about racism against arabs because it is prevalent on this board) and sexual verbal abuse toward women. If the board owners hope to attract participation from women climbers they will have to clean up their act as is shown by the low number of women posting here. Stay strong and give them shit (assholes). j_b

the problem with runners is they plow through which makes progress forward very difficult. What about making low amplitude/tapered fins with bondo or epoxy? You could also embed a small piece of metal on the ridge for very hard snow.

OW - it's called a pre-climb TR! did you check the gallery? I uploaded a number of pics from the same flight, different mtns though. I have a few more as well. I hope I don't get too much hate mail for showing someone's project.

it's as steep as it looks in the profile photo (duh) which I think would pretty much rule out the north rib. Apart from the first steep pitch (aid-able, i think), the rib is sustained ~75 deg and slabby (~5,7). You'd need pretty special snow condition, which you are more likely to find in the gullies (avy compacted)?
-
so Necro, do you think it's doable?
-
these pics were taken a few days after a coldish storm. You'd think that for it to stick at such a steep angle it has to be rimed or very cohesive snow (wind transported, wet then cold, etc). Could it be ice occasionally (long period of dry weather? warm wet storm then cold snap?).

"The poll found that about half of adults, 47 percent, say they support military action to remove Saddam from power and disarm Iraq, even without the full support of the United Nations Security Council. Almost four in 10, 37 percent, said this country should do that only with full support of the Security Council and 13 percent said the United States should not take military action even if the Security Council agreed." [note that 37+13=50% are against a non-UN supported action] "By a 2-1 margin, Americans said the United States needs to preserve the American tradition of not launching attacks on other countries unless it is attacked, rather than taking military action against countries before they can threaten or strike this country." http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/news/special_packages/iraq/5394901.htm

yeah sure I challenge you to find a freak in the pic above.

Powell Claims Link Between Iraq And Snowstorm That Hit Washington Secretary of State Colin Powell announced that he has “irrefutable” evidence that Iraq is behind the massive snowstorm that crippled the nation’s capital for several days. “Our intelligence sources intercepted telephone conversations among Iraqi scientists discussing a secret weather machine that can cause storms of mass disruption,” Powell told the few reporters who were able to make it through the snow to the State Department. “Saddam Hussein has the power to bring our government to its knees whenever he desires to bury Washington with several feet of snow. And he could do this to Paris or Berlin. This is why we must attack him now without further delay,” Powell urged in remarks clearly intended for members of the U.N. security council pushing for more time for further inspections. more stuff like the above at: http://bobsfridge.com/skew.htm

let me translate this for you people: hurling 3000 missiles in 24 hours, 10,000lbs bombs, depleted uranium, etc ... is the 'judicious use of force' that will save orders of magnitude more lives than weapon inspections.
