ok. I assume it is not too uncommon for holds to break there and I don't remember anything this hard. No big deal though.

there is the proof we need ... they have WMD!
-
allright we accept your apology ... and trade you Texas for BC. Deal?
-
what about getting back to the topic? what is it that they found?
-
you're right about that! it's hard to top your racist garbage.

do you folks think news travel faster toward Autralia than either the US or Britain? well believe it or not, it apparently does! http://www.abc.net.au/news/justin/nat/newsnat-8apr2003-13.htm

Kyes is a nice day outing (car bivy) from the North (Sloan Pk road-Curry gap), through Goblin Basin (nice rock in there) and up NE ridge (decent rock) or Pride Glacier. As you mentioned, it's possible to traverse over to Monte Cristo and decend via the North Face and traverse back toward the lower NE ridge.

an intersting piece about media spin: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/ED03Ak02.html

there is something odd about the NPR story. First only NPR seemed to have the info about what media hounds would consider a major coup. Second, it was initially referred to by most news outlets, and now it has disappeared or at least it is not prominently displayed. Time will tell. Not that any possible outcome on this piece of news will prove or disprove 'clear and imminent danger'.

the headlines on buzzflash are commentaries from whoever puts the site together (I don't agree with many of them either) but the stories themselves are from many different media sources. otherwise, in addition to those already mentioned by others: http://www.independent.co.uk/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/guardian/ http://www.aljazeerah.us/ http://www.reuters.com/news.jhtml

Allison - I tend to agree with Erik on this. There are a few sites that cater to people with your sensibilities. Perhaps you should check out: http://buzzflash.com/ cspan is the "better" one of the english-speaking cable channels.

for sure is. I think we already knew that. This is precisely why war is usually a last resort.

It seems like it depends on the place and time. The form of the conflict has evolved a lot since day 1 (it's not over either, unfortunately)

did someone say this? I know I did not.

no, not only you. I think I'd do the same but it is not obvious where they'd go, if they have the means to go anywhere, or that it'd be safer to go somewhere else. And finally, lack of reasoning does not justify death or does it? (rhetorical here)

lucky dog! it sounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for posting the pics. is lev29 harder now than it used to (broken hold?)?

"the bloodbath starts"??? does this mean we have not been watching the same news for the past couple of weeks? http://truthout.org/docs_03/040603A.shtml

1) The overwhelming majority among us (let's not even talk about the average car user) does the overwhelming majority of our driving on the highway, 2) the energy expanded for the manufacture of a car is about 10% of the total energy it uses over its average lifespan (note this percentage will rise for fuel-efficient cars). You can do the math but it's pretty obvious that a fuel-efficient car (unibody or not) is much easier on the environment than a guzzler built yesterday or 30 yrs ago (both in terms of pollution and energy consumption).

and one more, for the reading impaired ward just make sure you quote where I have acted like this are you talking about SC or about me here? what's your agenda bubba? all day long? to the point where all discussion (off topic or not) is drowned by it? I think 'educated' means a different thing in my world. Anyhow, I am not asking people to talk as if they were educated, I am only asking people to leave some room for non-gutter talk in spray as well. my type? (here comes the agenda ....) false claims? ooooh! sounds pretty bad. let's abuse anyone who disagrees with continuous redneck humor and we will call it free speech? sounds about right for the times we are undergoing. think about it.
-
who said I thought there was no room for humor in spray? I just think there is room for more than dubious humor. Unfortunately your juvenile garbage rules out anything else because everyone with something interesting to say is driven away. apparently Trask also has difficulty with reading comprehension.

in my book, respect is proportional to post content. now if you can show me that the occasional ok thing he says is not overwhelmed by obnoxious noise the rest of the time, i might reconsider, but I am not sure how you are going to do that. it might be too difficult for some to understand but the rest of the boad is for on-topic contributions (it has to do with climbing or skiing). I believe there are many other off-topic discussions beside the garbage you guys spew at each other all day long, no?
-
trask, don't bother sending anymore messages because I am deleting them without reading your garbage.
-
AK - if you think that someone like Trask is joking you are even more naive than I thought you were. The dude is backwater redneck all the way through. the point I am trying to make is that spray could be for off-topic discussion of all sorts among members of a community and not necessarily all pointless exchanges about boob, poop and what not. I am sorry you don't share my point of view on what the spray section could be. The way it's going, you'll have all those who herald from the mossy corners of Snohomish county partaking to your 'fun', then it'll be too late for anything else since it'll be umbearable for any other sensibilities. Partly your choice, I guess.
