BTW Bill Robbins used mass amounts of tape and had tape'n down to a science,he was a crack master.I don't think anyone will say he didn't have Technique. I use tape on my soft girly hands when I crack climb, most of the time and sometimes on an offwidth I will even tape my soft girly ankles.

I agree,my point exactly,my Technique sucks and by the picture i can see I am not the only one. Tape and a long sleeve shirt can buffer a bit but tape is aid.

There is a certain joy to placing gear and leaveing no trace, but where is the grace of movement and that getting all barked up hands and ankles( now that it is hard to find a high top climbing shoe)just sucks I have got'n sooo spoiled sport climbing reach up pull down, quick fix, no hang'n belays, no pins or hammer. Im was wonder'n how many of you young'ns think you will still be climbing after 50, when the morgages payments , collage bills, outback payments, are overwellming, your old fat and your think'n is it really worth it, especialy now that my ability is falling instead of going to the next grade.If you climb for the next objective like some it will be tough, if you actually climb for FUN you just won't be able to give it up.I have noticed that climbers climbing at higher grades have the most trouble finding partners,They are tooo driven and not a whole lot of fun. It’s doesn’t really bother me that much, just had the bic out to see if anything would ignite. I like ride’n my MT bike where auto can’t go but I guess that is just the loner in me. I actually rode the bike path myself and found it much more enjoyable and peaseful than the Get'r'done monster truck types blast'n by me on the open country road. How many of you really believe in that boring cliche? 3) The "climbing world" isn't a small place.....there are huge numbers of people calling themselves "climbers", like ants on a dropped Jolly Rancher. (see my comments somewhere about about how sport-climbing and gyms made climbing accessible to the semi-informed masses.) Karma... I totally think it is a life force, even when things put me down it sets me up for something so posittive it blows me away!It feels so good to do what is right and it sooo comes around.
