  1. I guess this includes the 18 minutes of foreplay.
  2. I'll second that. I bought a pair in Seattle at Outdoor Emporium for $32. Light and cheap. And kinda breathable.
  3. I boulder, I gym climb, I clip bolts, I climb trad at the crags, I peak bag on scramble routes, I climb alpine routes, I slog glaciers, and I try to climb ice. But I don't give a shit what you think cause I'm doing it for my own entertainment and enjoyment. Have fun.
  4. Can't argue with that....
  5. I. screw ewe. I think it's a come-on.
  6. Marmot Precip. Any real complaints about this jacket?

  8. I have a similar windshirt from Montane that I take on every trip. The material is water resistant, not waterproof, so it sheds off mist and light rain and snow, but you'll probably get soaked in a downpour. I wear it over a base layer while moving in cold weather, and will layer fleece insulation under it in when moving slowly. I still carry a light waterproof, breathable jacket in my pack, but only use it in the rain. Works for me.

  10. That's nice.
  11. New this week at TROLLER.COM: Glue on bolt hangers. Breaking strength 0.1 kN. Comes with fake stud so it looks like it is a drilled bolt. Glue these babies on the rock, throw your chalk bag at a few random spots, BINGO instant sporto trap! watch em crux, and go to grab the draw...pop! pop! pop! just like Pringles! Don't forget the colored tape marking the holds!
  12. barrier - n. a thing that prevents passage or approach. (Webster's New World Dictionary). So a vapor barrier prevents passage of vapor. Like the garbage bag (hefty-esque). I understand the concepts. I'm personally a big fan of windshirts over baselayers for travel in most conditions. But the windshirt isn't a barrier to vapor transport. It does slow down transport, but it is not a barrier.
  13. Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme cover Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" All Things Covered
  14. Well, Twight says fun isn't necessarily fun. A vapor barrier liner should be a liner that is a barrier to vapor. Barrier as in impermeable. The point of the barrier is to keep the outer insulation dry from sweat. Polypro? Yuck. Wool Rocks!
  15. Ummm.... This doesn't make any sense. A Vapor Barrier Liner should not be breathable. What's up with that?
  16. The bright side is that you'll have more time to spray on cc.com!
  17. Wool Rocks! And the thinner, the better. Smartwool, Ibex, and Icebreaker make great gear.

    2-way radios

I just bought a pair of Motorola T5420s from Best Buy for $49.95 minus a $15 rebate. They are FRS with 14 channels and 38 codes. You can compare different Motorola radios here. The top of the line models have barometric altimeters, thermometers, electronic compasses, and weather channel receivers.
  19. Thank you, Jay. This is the same question I asked earlier and never received a response. The 'No War for Oil' bumperstickers on the back of 16mpg SUVs really kills me. I was biking home from work yesterday and got stuck behind an old VW bus plastered with such rhetoric, belching smoke and gas fumes, creating his own personal hole in the ozone layer. Ugh.
  20. oh. aunt flo[w]. *now* i get it. sorry i took it so personally, 'tude. i thought you were dissin' my turf! (thanks for the check, dru.) so, who wants to get drunk with me this weekend? Double gosh....
  21. Think Pro Mountain Sports.... yeah, wtf *is* your point??? Gosh....
