Hmmm, true dat. however: My wife's inner beauty has tripled in the last 25 years. Thats right X3! Not that she's gone all to hell physically though. As she nears 50, although her shape is still there with some of the curves, they are certainly less pronounced than when we first got together (wider ass, less firm breasts, etc) and I don't give a rats ass about that. (Shes not wide, just aging in a normal way). She has effected big time positive change on the most important thing to me, and thats her personality and the way she and I relate. She is a giving, caring loving person who works her ass off making me a happy person in many ways, including (only 1 of many examples) pushing me out the door to go climb or ski when I have grumpy moment. Not to sound maudlin, but I'm more in love now with her than I ever have been. Shes an increadable woman, more so now that 20 years ago. The real good stuff is truely inside- and I would never had said (or thought it as well) anything more true or stupid sounding 20 years ago. I use to look pretty much at the wrapping without thinking what was underneath (personality) inside the package. What is underneath the hood counts in cars and in women -big time. There - you get the benefit of my 51 years and I didn't charge you for the knowledge. Boys (and girls) pick your spouse damn carefully - go ahead and check out her ass first, but better be thinking of the insides when you deside to make it permanent. *snif* and THAT is why Bilco RULES!!!!!!!

i try to not measure my self worth by the desires, be they fickle or other wise, of anyone else. i am who i am. some days i am on and some i am not.

one of the reasons i love to climb is that it takes away all the cluttery thoughts in my head. it is like a meditation in that if you are climbing as hard as you can you don't have brain space for anything other than what you are doing. learning how to climb and striving to get better changed my life in so many ways and helped me become more the person i want to be. okay i have more. I am better at being in the now. not all the time, but some times it is akin to some kind of spiritual journy. you learn unexpected things when you are out in nature. not about nature but about yourself. about what you are capable of. learning the level of risk i am willing to take has made me over all a more confident person. at home, at work with friends. climbing is not this to everyone. but i am affected.

as i have no sibblings i tend to agree with this point of view. i have close friends that i have known for up to 20 years. they are my family. some people don't have genetic families they can tolerate. when that is the case you create a family that you love and who love you. it is not about blood, it is about love.

it is my understanding gri gri's are made for hangdogging on sport routes. for gym climbing. for top roping. not good for belaying a trad leader. i never ever use a gri gri to belay someone on a trad lead.

i suck. i tape up for anything i know i am going to fall on. actualy i have been struggeling with .10's for a long time. and someone finaly convinced me to tape up this summer and it made a world of difference. i still suck. and i suck at taping up my hands too. but i bleed less. i have small hands the tape adds volume. it seems to help.
