  1. Nice film, looks like a great day out. Thanks for posting that.
  2. Unfortunately, the phrases "old guy" and "heal up fast" are often incompatible. It's more like "figure out a way to work around it"
  3. you mean Safety Third link NOTE: the 19 minute film does contain nudity and may not be safe for your workplace. Maybe your next romance could be set at Burning Man?

    Is this legal?

Oh, I'm not that devoted to the cause, and 5k is not really all that much money. Besides, Simon Maas is not nearly the wacky black hat that Rick Santorum is, he's just your garden variety deceptive welcher.

My only rat bastard deadbeat client, skipped off to Canada owing me 5k a number of years ago. Eventually, thanks to googlebots, this will be one of the first things you see when you google his name. Sort of like when I was using "Pat Robertson had sex with my younger brother" though he's so ubiquitous that I had to settle for being on the first page of hits when running a search for "pat robertson sex" edited to add: I dunno, I suppose the thread topic is relevant, "Is this legal?"
  6. Individual objectives are less important to me than just a general MORE, more trips, more days, more climbing, and posting more TR's. The key to that seems to be the calendar, putting things down on paper makes them real and other things then have to be scheduled around the climbing, not vice versa. Written down so far: >Cochise Stronghold & Tucson, old buddies reunion and such, April 9th-16th. >Red Rocks with my local Oly crew, April 30th to May 5th >City of Rocks June 5th-9th with a bunch of Bellinghamsters >Some days in the Cascades July 16th-24th >Eastern Sierra Alpine/Burning Man/City of Rocks August26th to Sept 12th >Somewhere in October: Hells Canyon/San Rafael Swell/Red Rocks? >Joshua Tree for Thanksgiving Oh, and cragging about the state too: Tenino, Mazama, Tieton, Fossil, Static, Darrington, Spring, Hush-Hush jive off Hwy 2, the list exceeds time available
  7. Hey, look! Someone wrote "gullible" on the ceiling! just kidding, actually, it says "voter"

If you stick something to my car uninvited, doesn't it become mine?
  9. A couple of fruit loops does not make a full bowl of cereal.
  10. Great pics, thanks for the TR. It seems like you're almost guaranteed to find some sort of awful ski conditions between Muir and Paradise, at least in the winter before everything turns to corn.
  11. Not only did I drive all the way to Seattle for Crusher's slide show on Desert Towers, at the gym in Olympia I finally ticked the blue tape problem and found a new project: the white tape problem! And hey, it was a tough day on Saturday, very cold conditions in the Feathered Friends back room...
  12. The spam got deleted, but the comments remained
  13. Here's a little truth about Wisconsin...
  14. I would like to thank Jonathon for such a lovely bit of non-political climbing related spray. Well done old chap.
  15. A rope? They were lucky to have a rope. We used to have to knot shoe strings together and tie them around the enormous heads of our rigid cocks. Rope! Luxury! [video:youtube]
  16. If a little occasional junk smacking puts you off you must be a sport climber or something. Training to be worlds best alpinst involve a little suffering.
  17. That question should be asked more often.
  18. Didn't I see you out at the crag the other day Arch?
  19. Thanks Gene, that's exactly what I meant.
  20. I'm just keeping you honest John. Truth be told, I'm unfamiliar with the area and don't know about the history, routes, or situation, so I don't really have an opinion one way or another. You sound like a committed local, and I've certainly enjoyed your TR's here, so I wish you well in working out your local situation. Unless you're using a Ouija board to consult Alex Lowe, I'm uncertain who you're referring to. Presumably the TR problem's FA party? As far as ASCA goes, their site states: "The ASCA returns classic climbing routes to their original danger level by replacing deteriorating old fixed anchors, usually bolts, with modern camouflaged gear. We do not add bolts to make climbs "safer." Climbing is inherently extremely dangerous." I'm sure this is their policy, and if bolts they had supplied were used to retrobolt TR problems it was not with their consent. They supply hardware to volunteers who do the work, the ASCA does not have complete control over what individuals do with the hardware they supply. Were the removed hangers stamped ASCA? If so, if you have proof their hardware was misused, you should take it up with them, I'd guess they would be very interested to know. If you register a complaint in a reasonable manner and get a snarky dismissive response, that would be some evidence of failure to follow through on their policy, but I don't believe your accusation has merit at this time.
  21. My friend Micky Judge shot his younger brother Jamie dead through the bathroom door, just playing a game. Must have been 9th grade or so. My nephew accidentally shot his best friend, and while it was just a pellet gun, the friend did indeed lose an eye. I don't own a gun because I've never been in a situation where having one would make anything any better. I'm okay with living in a society where you get to make your own decision about that sort of thing, and I certainly know lots of responsible gun owners, but I don't think armed populace makes the US a safer place.
  22. I thought I'd read on Supertopo that it was you who did that?
  23. Nah, not that good Steve, I'm just using the power of googlebots to call out a deadbeat client.
