  1. I wonder what the fastest game time or highest scores were on these kinds of climbs. Maybe they set some sort of new record. Can anyone confirm that? Check it out on mountainspeedplaying.org.

    Objective hazards

They say that smoking can kill you.
  3. There are a couple of simple fixes the government should simply legislate into practice to help decrease our need for enery. One, decrease the number of dark hours and let the sun do it's work for us. Two, lower the boiling point of water. You don't need as much energy if you didn't have to heat it so high. I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of. Anyone got any other suggestions?

    Name this peak

I don't know that they named any of the peaks they used in a Star Trek backdrop.
  5. Slesse was actually silhouetted in the sun and difficult to see anything, but in any case I wasn't looking for it and I didn't see any. As for the other side of the valley, there was no apparent snow whatsoever right to the summits of the Illusions and Rexford.

    What A Weekend!

Decker (Blackcomb) on Tuesday, Table Mountain (Baker area) Saturday, Slesse Memorial Sunday.
  7. Okay, so it's not climbing or anything, but I went up to the Slesse Memorial on Sunday. Weather was obviously amazing and the trail was in great shape. Snow the last bit on the road, only one washout to contend with on the way, but no general difficulties in the Trooper, after all, that's what skid plates are for! Drove to the trailhead and then proceeded to wade up to my knees through the creek boots and all. Trail was great - snow all the way, but no chainsaws required. Never did find the memorial, but made it to the clearcut in under 2 hours. A great day!

  9. Agreed, although I wonder who shares Dan's birthday - actually, I guess he's the celebrity, so anyone out there know when his is?

    Little Si Access

Yeah, but I kind of find logging roads like walking in a mall - exhausting! I don't know how people can do it - they have to be in way better shape than me, and often they use walkers!
  12. As per the security guard at N Van MEC yesterday, it will open this Friday the 17th. Don't know how ready it will be. And yes, I do know the address of the Arc'teryx store.

  14. Based on your logic, I would think you have much more of a right to remove them than those who put them there, provided you cleaned them up and didn't throw them somewhere else where you'd be littering. I'm all for it! Let's clean up our backyard!
  15. Nevermind.
  16. Yah, but he watches TV! You can't take that away from him. How much experience do you want?
  17. No shit! I've thought about putting a "slower traffic keep right" or "keep right except to pass" sign in my left rear window. Fuckin' lousy WA drivers. Be thankful you don't have to drive with all the idiots who learned to drive in BC (I'm from TO)! Everytime I go to Washington, I'm impressed that people even know that there's a right lane. I hate it when the media always presents these lanes as being the fast lane and the slow lane. I always thought it was the driving lane and the passing lane. Everyone seems to think they're fast so they sit in the left. Up here, I think everyone also plans ahead real well. They think, oh, in about 100 km's I'll need to be in the left lane for some unknown reason, so I'll just go there now. Half the time I'm sure they don't even know why they're there. Idiots!
  18. Missed again
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's Naven R. Johnson. (Just trying to boost my spray count.)
  20. I missed my snaffle opportunity!
  21. Don't you get a lot of headaches from being up so high?
  22. Seen on the classic movie "The Octagon" with Chuck Norris the other day, "Have you hugged your rifle today?"
  23. Feel the love! Is this why our world is in such great shape?
  24. Excellent info. Much appreciated. Now I just need to round up a tape player!
  25. Thanks!
