  1. 36 and not without some effort. Don't have time to figure out screen shots. Must...play...more...games.
  2. Come on -, where are the GPS coordinates or video footage to prove it?

    Fav movie quotes

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." "What's the photo for?" "Gee, thanks Dave. Bang up job, so far."
  4. You are so well spoken, how can I refute you. I concede defeat as your mental might has rendered me defenseless. Good night.
  5. No kidding. I'm afraid Bush just made this world a much scarier place for everyone. If there really is a threat to world peace and security, his name is Bush. At least he sacrificed the world to make his daddy proud. One should always honour your parents.
  6. Yes, so many facts. Where did Iraq get many of its weapons from? Was the US ever involved in helping them obtain any? Was the US ever aware of what happened in Iran? I reread your post and you were mentioning morals. Please explain to me if I am either out to lunch on my above assumptions, or if I am right, why the States either supported Iraq or turned a blind eye.
  7. Facts, please. You're starting to sound a lot like Bush. Long on the rhetoric, short on anything real to say. Do me a favour and don't reply to me unless you have at least one fact included. Thanks.
  8. Ah Cobra, so sincere... I really appreciate all the well thought out arguments that you've presented. Of course you're going to win the war. Has this ever been a question? Might is right! But seriously, when you say the facts are on the table, can you please show me where this table is? I'd love to see the facts seeing as I haven't heard any from you. Please reread your posts and show me where there is any convincing argument about a superpower rejecting the majority of the globe (except for it's 45? country coalition - apparently many who don't want anyone else to know who they are. Iceland, Afghanistan, Albania? Great team you've got, and I'm sure none of them were extorted to sign on, either). Again, please give me at least one good fact. Owning a Moab and wanting to use it doesn't really count.
  9. Cobra, you say. Maybe sheep is more like it. You say, "If you don't agree, get on a plane?". Great philosophy you hold to. If someone doesn't agree with a US policy, they should leave the US? Hmmm. I guess you'll be leaving soon, seeing as you don't agree with the right to have an opinion? Reading the headlines today, the first one I read said "US troops kill 7 Iraqi women and children". The one right below it said "Bush insists US making good progress in war". Hmmm. Something just doesn't seem right. I'm not saying Saddam shouldn't be ousted, and I'm not saying that anyone wishes harm on Americans, Britains, or Iraqis, but get real (and get a life), Bush (not Americans) is really out of touch with reality. Right during the time we need global unity more than ever, and he rejects the UN, bribes or extorts countries to get on board, yeah, what a national hero you have! And hurray for you, spitting on protesters! I guess that's a right you have, citizen! Makes me proud to live in such proximity to perfection.
  10. Hey Trask, of course nobody wants to see those pictures, but when everyone, including the U.S. government is 10,000 miles away, it kind of brings what is happening closer to home. Like in the Star Trek when Kirk forces the 2 warring planets to actually have to go and kill each other by taking away their programmed computers to decide how many million and who die each day. Everyone walks off happily to die. Put Bush on the front line and see if he changes his mind. Kirk was a much better leader than Bush will ever be! (Why don't I ever see Star Trek mentioned in Spray? Go ahead, let me have it.) (How do I insert a picture without making it an attachment?)

Frank Smythe's "The Six Alpine/Himalayan Climbing Books" and the latest Nat. Geo. I thought The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged were good reads with some good thoughts, but try taking the philosophies to the extremes. I like how she thought how great it was that man could smoke cigarettes with his amazing ability to control fire. Didn't she die of lung cancer?

    Heads In The Sand...

Don't know, just copied it as was. File name was probably was created by an American. India, Afghanistan, what's the difference?
  13. I guess it's a good thing for France that the US wouldn't be able to find them on a map! I guess a couple of well placed nukes anywhere in Europe might just do the job regardless (irregardless?).

    Chilkoot Trail

Now that was an excellent trip. Saw the slides. Ironic the one main injury happened on a logging road. Good thing, too, I guess.

    Chilkoot Trail

I'm planning to do the Chilkoot Trail on my own this July. I've booked it over 4 days. The first day is 11.8 miles to Sheep Camp, the 2nd day to Happy Camp, the 3rd to Lindeman City, and the 4th out past Bennett to Lone Cabin. Does anyone know if this sounds reasonable? The ranger told me that the fastest time to Sheep Camp is like 7 hours. I don't understand. If the trail is supposedly in "excellent condition", and you only climb a little over 1000', what's the deal? I'd think that 7 hours would be the norm. Am I missing something? Also, what about the next day over the pass. Gruelling, sure, but it is as difficult as it's made out to be?
  18. Unless anything has changed since last Saturday, the conditions are fantastic. Did Larrabee on the weekend. It was so warm we were looking for a breeze to cool us off. It could've been done in from the car to the car in shorts and a t-shirt. There is (was) an inversion happening. Even though we were in snow right from Twin Lakes to the gullies on Larrabee, it was minimal (4-6 inches) and quite easy going. Took us 4.5 hours up. Also, you could drive right to the lakes no problem. Have a great weekend!
  19. Last I heard, Nixon's has moved out to Surrey. They had a pretty good selection. Valhalla has a few.
  20. I'm heading up to Lizzie Lake this coming weekend and essentially just plan to ramble up some of the easy peaks there. We plan to camp at Iceberg Lake Saturday night and then do the ridge beginning with Tabletop, Anemone and over to Whisky Peak before heading home. On the map, it looks like Lizzie Lake is directly below Whisky Peak. Does anyone know if there is a quick and easy (meaning straightforward) way down from Whisky Peak (or nearby) to Lizzy Lake direct? If not, along which part of the ridge would it be best to drop a pack? We don't want to do the whole ridge, then backtrack it to Iceberg Lake to retreive our gear before heading home.
  21. Have a friend who went up on the weekend to do Joffre from Cerise Creek side. Apparently stuff was coming down in a few places. He was on a mountaineering course and wouldn't you know it, the one place they thought was safe was where they were roping up. It avalanched and 7 of them were caught in it. It came down because of rock fall triggering a slab about 100 feet above them. All managed to swim out and get to the surface, but 1 guy lost his complete rack and 5 pickets were lost. They didn't attempt Joffre or Matier after that. Go for it!
  22. Okay, I'm confused. I've got the 1992 Chilliwack H4 topo map, but I don't see a few things that you guys are talking about. Is the previous reference to Williams Lake actually for Williamson Lake? Also, someone mentioned a road to Williamson Lake but I see only a small road (and not very long) directly east of Foley Lake heading up and east to about 1000m. Is this the road and is this the best access for Foley? or is Wahleach Lake the better way - is there a trail this way or just bush? Also again, where is Spoon Lake? Is Chipmunk Creek road the best approach for Lady and is the best fork the one on the east side of the creek or the one on the west (both at about 870m, 2 bridges side by side)? As for Knight, is it a reasonable day hike from Airplane Creek Road? Lots of questions, but lots of peaks.
  23. My mistake, Perfect Pass it is. And speaking of the traverse to Ross Lake, I was thinking of doing this from Chilliwack Lake. You can drive within a mile of the end of the lake and then hoof it from there. Anyone know what this trail is like? Is it overgrown or fairly reasonable? How long would one take to do it (with a few side trips, e.g. Challenger?)
  24. Does anybody out there really know what this final obstacle is like in getting to the top? Ropes required? Are there actually places to put pro? How long is this section? Is the rock really so bad that if you don't like a handhold, just move it?
  25. I've been trying to get some info on this peak via the web, but haven't found much. Anybody know of any good sites to visit? Better yet, anyone got some good firsthand info on it as well as for Easy Pass? Length of times are important as well as difficulty. I'd like to do it late July, August.
