  2. 7/27 - no one bit on the partner offer, so i spent a leisurely mornign w/ the little people - coffee n' bacon n' cats - went out to beacon at 3, uncertain what to do, packed for anything, and decided along the way, in honor of the olympics, to set a goal to climb as many solo laps as possible on the corner before getting back to the house for pizza n' wine w/ the wife in the evening - settled for 4 laps (bacon-flavored half dome day? BFHDD?) - could have done more i reckon, but ran into the company of Known Felons after lap 1 and that took a little bit of the wind out of my sails - did the pleasant last lap w/ denalidave, overladen w/ one beer, me ashamed to have left my gin n' juice in the rig for the celebratory drive home perfect day, weather-wise, compared to yday - overcast, cool, variable winds - stoked to see a 3-some spending a night on ground zero, complete w/ double haul-bags n' ledge(s?) (didn't see room for the 3rd, what horrid price did he have to pay i wonder?) - thought to aid-solo ground zero i had, but they skunked me, and then that bastard timetravel'n'steve took my free 4 sum backup! a pox on all their houses!

  10. X2 - this route is the principal reason i decided, way back in the halcyon days of the 1st W administration, to move out here to the glorious pacific northwest
  11. adams and hood are of course much lower, and much less extensively glaciated, than rainier
  12. at ages 6 n' 8 though, they appear unready to weigh in on the momentous david lee roth v sammy hagar thang - the boy MIGHT like "hot for teacher" more though than anything on 5150
  13. 7/23 - 2 corner laps in a little more than an hour and done in time to get kids to the dentist, then a long walk by waterfalls (even introducing the bastardos to "5150" along the way, just for you, kev ) Surprised we missed you. was gone by 11 - ran into the phuzzy n' pcg though - who'dya climb w/?

  16. It's been done but it is dodgy. Sertac Olgun was killed there under similar conditions in 2009 when a serac fell over and landed on him. I would recommend caution or waiting until later in the year. or maybe just bring the nitro!?!
  17. gotta love any trip w/a partner who doesn't threaten to consume your share of the booze woulda loved to see pix of the pooch handling the cavern part of the cathedral dog route!
  18. run it out!!!
  19. Any issues with this in the backcountry/altitute/whenever? I'm a corrective lens wearer, and for years would wear my contacts (Now the Acuve Oasys) multiple days. Few years ago found I just can't do it anymore. After a night, one of my eyes just starts to feel grainy and hurt. So now I just carry case, small solution, and glasses (back at camp). But, I dream of Lasik every day. Someday. no problems - every few years i have a dream where i'm like the untermensch again but other than that it's a total life-changer
  20. still gotta get someone to rope'gun me up the nose though...
  21. half the fun of climbing yosylum big walls is of course watching the gawdamn birdies - these 2 fellers were occupying the crack that so horrified ole'pat w/ its sustained wide-twat'ness [video:youtube]
  22. in a binary world divided between spitters n' swallowers, it's real clear who ya'd rather camp w/ t-minus 72 minutes on the youtubz...
  23. i couldn't make glasses or contacts work w/ the outdoor lifestyle and after countless years of tears, finally contracted w/ a nice socialist surgeon to cut open my glazballs and shine a real bright light in there to make'em right
  24. hadn't thought to, but jesus, i better do it soon now 'fore someone goes and gets completely the wrong idea about its contents
  25. yeah but if i had a buck for every gumby-bail i've had on warshington's knob i'd have like, uh, 2$? fine tr sure, but best ever's gotta have at least one pic of a w.o.b. or the most modern use of the fuck-word ever
