I have always taken one or two up the R&D Route on Icicle buttress on Sunday AM (no strings attached). It is a 4 pitch 5.6. Easy, safe, fun. All are welcome. All you need are shoes and harness. Helmets are advised but not enforced. You can rent gear at the mountain shop in Leavenworth.

Makes for a slow day here at work.

At kids ropeup we just proceed as though we are at ropeup. The kids don't pay any attention. Maybe its because they can relate to us better when we aren't so uptight.

You all remeber when I brought my yngn's? They stood by quite amused while I flailed with the tent. My oldest was 8 at the time and ended up patronizing me. "It's OK dad. I don't mind setting up the tent." Not to worry. They seem to have blotted the whole thing out of their memories.
