Just finished reading a really good book on hormonal enhancement thru diet.... definitely is causing me to rethink how I eat. http://www.extique.com/ In summary it suggests cyclical carb loading 2 days/week, the other 5 days are low carb. It also talks about exercise and advocates shorter but more intense workouts... similar to the www.crossfit.com approach. I'm giving this a try and will see how it works next season.

I think it was done early July '05, but not sure.

Click on the following link http://chris.pirillo.com/images/MountRainier.wmv to view some incredible video footage of the summit of Mt. Rainier. Boeing invited about 30 Web loggers plus a few journalists to try out its Connexion on-board Internet service. One of the bloggers took the video and also provided some narration as well. The video is about 3-1/2 minutes in length.

Hi All, Firstly I apologize for posting this simple question, but I am not seeing it on the MRNP website. When do they stop leaving the gates open 24 hours? What are the shortened hours? In particular I will be going in through the Nisqually entrance in the next few weeks. Thanks

Another thing about the Yates is that they pack closely together because of the L shape. 3 Yates will take up about the same space as a single T-shaped picket.

I have a marmot arroyo down 35 degree bag....less than 2 lbs and packs small. I have been very happy with it.

Great TR Green.... I had a failed attempt a couple years ago so it's on my list to get back and do it. Sounds like the view is worth the climb

another step up would be an carryover such as tahoma glacier.

Great TR & Photos! we talked to you at your first camp as we were coming out from our tahoma attempt. Glad the weather worked for you.

some random notes from a tahoma glacier attempt. I was in one of the groups up there late last week attempting tahoma glacier via the cleaver. We got to around 9000 ft and realized there was more mountain than some of us could climb in 4 days. We'd have been better off to plan it as a five day climb. 2 other groups got to about the same point and turned around as well. I think an RMI group made it thru the sickle via starting from the base of the glacier. Conditions softened up quickly once the sun appeared and made traveling almost impractical by 1-2 pm. The recent snowfall is still consolidating. One group tried to descend down onto the glacier from ~9200 ft but didn't like what they saw below and decided not to attempt it. There was an avalanche release near the upper tahoma glacier ramp to the summit. The sickle appears to be in good shape. The success formula seems to be to start and end early. Go left around st andrews rock and get a high camp around 11,000 ft. Then carryover. Maybe stopping 1 more night at point success. another group from connecticut is up now, should be attempting the summit in a day or so. Saw a lot of helicopters flying around Thurs/Fri, but didn't know about the liberty ridge situation. on Friday around 8-9 am, did see one helicopter fly from the north side carrying what looked to be a body. It was a sobering sight.

Shouldn't the title be for the Emmons?
