  1. I have an Eldo, and erecting the vestibule is a pain in the ass. Too many little velcro thingies and complex guylines. The zipper attachment on the ID is a much better design.
  2. Colin and Mark climbed the N Ridge of Stuart in Winter and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.

  10. Get 8mm ropes that are rated as doubles and twins. Problem solved.
  11. I'm still ice climbing on my Grivel G-12 strap-on crampons. Maybe one day I'll sharpen them.

  16. Valentine's Day.
  17. Outdoor and More in Seattle. After a couple years in the pack, the seam tape started delaminating. But hey, they're cheap. They are definitely less sweaty than coated nylon, and the full side zips can be used for venting.

  19. eVent is supposed to me more breathable than Gore-Tex. How about these? Not cheap, though.

  21. Any tips for getting skins on and off quickly? Storage?
  22. Because many of your posts read like press releases or advertisement. People get paid to produce and distribute press releases and advertisements.
  23. Do you get paid to post stuff like this?
  24. Most of his Democratic critics this week were reduced to offering only grudging praise for the successful Iraqi elections. Yet John Kerry who had predicted nothing but failure in Iraq under Mr. Bush, remained as clinically defeatist as ever. When asked by Tim Russert on Sunday's "Meet the Press" if Iraq was now less of a terrorist threat than two years ago, Mr. Kerry said: "No, it's more. And, in fact, I believe the world is less safe than it was 2½ years ago." Tell that to the men and women who ventured out on the streets of Iraq to cast their vote and proudly showed their ink-stained fingers as badges of courage. Praise for the Iraqi elections was nearly universal around the world, with even France and Germany.
