  3. If it is a small hole, repair it yourself. Get a patch of 400 or 500 Cordura and cut it to 2 round about 1” bigger then the hole diameter. Get some seam sealer and fill the hole with the seam sealer. Smudge some sealer on the top and bottom of the hole lay the patches to cove the holes evenly, then coat the patches with a—THIN-- coat of sealer. Let it dry for 24 hours.

  11. Both good, However, I will stay away from cordless unless you occasionally use the tools; I mostly use corded one. Only corded tools will give you the POWER and constant preformence. There is nothing worse then when you in the middle of your work and both batteries going charging because the job is too big for cordless. Also cordless tools are MUCH heavier than corded it will matter when you need to hold that drill for a long period of time beside you or over your head. That said I also own the set from Dewalt and I use it when access to an outlet is a complicated issue and the need for the drill is minor like few holes and/or several cuts. BTW, stay away from Ryobi (I will go Black & Decker before that) Best brand are: Fain (the most expansive…but hands down the BEST), Milwaukee (also very well balanced), and Hitachi (can you say POWER). If I will to do it again I probably will go Milwaukee.

  19. you see that is my point. but if it works for you than all power to you. I canot sleep when my sleeping bag is wet and think a happy thoghts of warm and dry island. You see I’m only fat and unfit mortal
  20. Now how about that for oxymora Proper technique: Sleep in a tent but don’t touch the walls A) You will need bigger tent--more weight …or B) You will need to futz around with a tarp--more time/Wight C) You will have a restless night after a day that well deserve sound rest in a fear of touching the walls. D) Impossible when using a bivysack not over heat You will have to wakeup in the middle of the night to adjust the clothing system and that is beside the fact that you really cannot pinpoint and maintain your optimal thermal output for a constant time. “I have never had a problem keeping my down bag warm and dry” “To each and its own” it is great if it works for you, I had a different experience. “If you like carrying extra weight and taking up more space, go synthetic.” When taking to account restless night, carrying a bigger tent, taking a tarp and taking the time to pitch and adjust it properly and not being able to use a bivysack only without feeling and being clammy and damp (in best case scenario) out weight the lightness of down. Try to sleep in a snow cave without a bivysack with only a trash bag and sleeping pad when using down --however with syntetic it works flawlessly. I have five different sleeping bags and four of them are best quality down bags with all the bells and wistels. The only time that I will take the down is if I know for certain that I will not get rained on and the relative humidity is low. My true work horse is TNF syntetic bag that cost me $100 while a pound heavier and bulkier it save me time, sleep, and weight from other factors that make down useless.
  21. I love my "South Col". It was the driest of them all when we were rained on. However, my “South Col” is the older model pre-eVent. I abnormally sweaty guy so I tend to clam my bag very fast. My only assumption base on the older SC performance is that the eVent will offer a vast improvement over the older standard fabric (but I can’t justify buying a new one when my current one still going very strong). If you looking for the lightest package it will be, the “Endurance” (like it said before me) it is not totally waterproof but it is allot more breathable and highly water resistant at 11 oz. If you looking only for one bag then I will go with the SC if you can afford both bivi, you will have a very sweet system.
  22. is anyone would like to get out and climb and need a partner??? call me 206-328-2446
