NRA wants armed guards at house fires too? http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/12/24/firefighters-shot-rochester.html?cmp=rss Or is this what happens when you have a house fire in a house with guns inside and the ammo fires off randomly?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality_disorder That's a great wiki link. Except autism isn't considered a personality disorder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism Was this guy, in your opinion, a functional and responsible adult or not? Yes or no?

It's funny that when it comes to gun rights this is a question, but if you substituted any other situation the answer is clear. Let's try it out. - The bank left the vault unlocked when the robbery took place and they stole all the cash in it. - The soldiers left the nuclear payload unsecured when the insurgents attacked the base. - You left your car unlocked and the thief stole the belongings. This women had some clear choices being faced with an unstable son. Secure the weapons in such a way he would never be able to get them OR just get rid of them. She choose not to. What the fuck are you talking about? Leaving your car unlocked is asking to be robbed? I suppose wearing a short skirt is asking to be raped? What's with needing to blame anyone other than the person who did this horrible deed? There is only one person responsible for the actions of Adam Lanza. Adam Lanza. This cute little thread you guys have going here showing just how much you care about "the children" is much more entertaining than a dozen pages of insults lobbed at Kevbone for pointing out that horrendous shit happens all the time. Ultimately, it is the persons of full mental competence who are responsible for those of diminished mental competence who depend on them. Lanza may have been legally an adult (20 yrs old) but it sounds like he was autism spectrum and/or Aspergers so that makes his mother his keeper IMHO. She bears some responsibility for this which being a victim does not absolve her of. In the same way thatr if an 8 yr old shoots his 6 yr old brother with Daddy's gun, Daddy is at fault even though he's also a victim, being the parent of a dead child and a killer.

When you can't refute my point you go sideways. Probably you'll reply to this with an insult, since you know you can't deal with the central issue.

I wouldn't expect a comfortable walk in in a pair of rock shoes or fruit boots, and I wouldn't buy a pair of rock shoes or fruit boots and expect them to handle anything other than steep climbing - no approaches, no descents, and not keeping my feet warm standing around. For mountain boots though, I kind of expect I should be able to put them on at the car and wear them all day - approach, climb and descent. Having to wear one pair of boots and carry another sucks enough when it's rock shoes on on an alpine route and big boots in the pack. Having to wear one pair of boots to approach and descend from a mountain route and wear another for the climb is kinda dumb. I've fallen down a lot skiing because I wore my mountaineering boots for the ski in and out rather than ski in in ski boots and carry mountaineering boots to climb in.

Ice Climbing Crampons! Mono or dual-point?
G-spotter replied to Newman55's topic in Ice Climbing Forum
With most modern crampons you can set them up as offset dual (one point longer than the other) which gives some of the the advantage of mono for mixed but the stability of dual for ice. I like the longer point on the inside (under my big toe) but there are some conditions when having it on the outside can actually be better. To some extent it matters if you are duck-toed (feet point out) or pigeon-toed (feet point in) -
