  1. Are you talking about crampons for your boots, or ski crampons that will work for tele gear? If it's the latter, I'm still searching for a good solution!
  2. Just came from there. A bunch of Makalus are left. A few Lhotses and a few more Nepal Extremes (picked some up for $105!) A bunch of Megas, Cliffs, Katanas and Muiras are left for rock shoes.
  3. huh... i was a university scholarship athlete... and i still think pro sports are retarded. Getting a free team gym bag for being on the Ultimate Frisbee club team doesn't count.
  4. jerky and horsecock. don't forget the Gu.
  5. She was enamored with low angled slab man, and spent many a night fantasizing about him; her hips moving in time with his rest step. However despite her best efforts she could not shake "glissading in shorts man". She knew he was no good for her, yet he still visited her in her most vivid dreams.
  6. I'm with MattP on this one. You don't need a bivy unless it's raining.
  7. It doesn't say if they block UV rays or not. If they do, that's a great idea
  8. Whu? If she's at basecamp, that would be ANOTHER reason to climb Everest.
  9. It was a pleasant sunny day for opening day at Safeco field. Even though the M's got shelled, there's just no beating the first game of the season at a ballpark with your good buds. BTW: everyone who got picked last in gym class - make yourselves known by bashing on pro sports
  10. My god she's hot.
  11. Sick Day was funny too
  12. Another vote for the 1st and 2nd. I'm 97.2% there.
  13. No...I promised not to talk about the blow-up doll you packed in your sled... ooops - DOH!
  14. I can't stress enough how good bacon tastes in Alaska. That and peanut butter. Don't forget the Mac and Cheese - fluff it up with potato buds. Squid is right on with the pudding. But whatever he tells you...leave the olive oil at home.
  15. Doing some kayak surfing in the mouth of the Columbia
  16. After they're above their first or second piece: "Hey...is that the new BD Bod harness you're wearing?" "Yeah...why?" "I think those were the ones they just recalled because they sent a batch out with bad stitching. I dunno though...it's probably not yours."
  17. If I remember right, there was a similar study done at the University of Texas in the early 90's. They interviewed injured athletes in the training room and asked them one question: did you stretch prior to your activity? Since all of them said yes, the study found zero correlation between stretching and injury prevention.
  18. I second all those who say to belay off the harness. That's pretty common to do if you have a crappy anchor. Mark Twight did say that if you can't fully trust your anchor...why build one in the first place?
  19. Weird...my wide feet fit in Garmont AT and tele boots like a glove - but Scarpa AT boots (and tele boots) are way too narrow. I've also fitted people with narrower feet in Scarpa boots more successfully than Garmonts. In terms of volume, maybe the Scarpas are narrower, but higher.
  20. Yer boots are too big. How did your feet fit in Scarpa's? Those are lower volume boots than Garmonts.
  21. You can change that to most CLIMBERS have inflated egos... Do Little sounds like a junior high school kid who just read Into Thin Air and wants to sound smart.
  22. Hard ice skiing in the morning followed by wet gloppy snow in the afternoon? Sounds like fun Ryland!
  23. I've met her a couple of times, and have had the pleasure of talking to her at length on more than one occasion. She's a super nice person, and an outstanding climber. Anonymous potshots on an internet board = WEAK. Yup...she has an image to sell - just like any business person. But climbing aspirations governed by financial aspirations? Are you serious?
  24. I was using one in the gym the other day cuz I sick of wrestling a stiff 11mm rope into an atc. I got some funny looks too. Ha ha.
