Just so happens that member #1335 is Trask. To say that he has a corrupted profile is a bit of an understatement! Coincidence?

Wouldn't this be a more suitable avatar image?

And how many routes do you know of where the tree is actually part of the route?

It was not my intention to break your heart, just to be honest and point out that this incident seemed to be part of a bigger pattern. Simply put, it is my opinion that you have been unable to walk your talk, and do not wish to hear or act upon constructive criticism. quote: Originally posted by Norman Clyde: It's not like you tried to deceive anybody, or told any lies about yourself. You should not concern yourself with what other people think of you. Only YOU know your own truth, who you are, and what you are capable of. I told you, to your face, that you built a bad anchor, that you could have killed me, and that you needed more instruction. I cannot make someone listen to what they do not want to hear.

More elusive than Bigfoot, the enigma that is Texplorer has finally been photographed! Though unconfirmed, it is believed that what follows is an actual photo of Texplorer in his natural environment: Sources close to the scene report that this photo was taken while Tex was establishing his first ever first ascent. In true style, the ascent was put up onsight, from the ground up, on lead. Obviously, no cleaning or inspection was done prior to the ascent! The route is thought to be rated 10d, but this may change if additional footholds are discovered underneath the dense moss and vegetation. * The location of this event has been withheld to protect the innocent.

quote: Originally posted by shredmaximus: Well if she had made it to the top of the climb she would have had bolts as her anchor so no problem there. Flashback: May 2002, Smith Rock, OR A group of 5 people use cc.com to organize a weekend of climbing at Smith Rock. We decide to spend the first day cragging at The Student Wall of the Gorge. We do a couple of climbs, and then Anna decides that she would like to work a TR of Astro Bunny (5.10b/c). As she does not have anchor gear, she borrows a cordelette and 4 locking biners from a fellow climber. Both I and the other climber ask if she is comfortable setting an anchor with the supplied gear, which she says she is. So, she walks to the top, sets an anchor, and comes back down. I give hear a belay on the climb, which she is unable to finish, and lower her back down. Anna gives me a belay, I reach the top, and discover that the anchor is textbook wrong - the cordelette is looped between biners connected to 2 bolts, and the rope is running through 2 biners that are clipped over top of the cordelette. I tear down, walk to the bottom, and immediately make Anna aware that her anchor was "spooky" and proceed to instruct her on the correct way to construct an equalized anchor using a cordelette. At this point she admitted that she needed to read more books and gain more knowledge of climbing systems. The next day Anna did her first trad lead on Spiderman Buttress, having only done one previous sport lead and having minimal trad experience. Feeling that Anna was an accident waiting to happen, I left the scene. This accomplishment was posted on cc.com, to which she received broad praise, support, and accolades. Knowing Anna and being aware of her character, I saw this accident coming a long time ago. Sometimes, being kind and polite does not do the job - some people just have to learn things the hard way. I am thankful that this accident did not have more serious consequences.

Hey Erik, Unfortunately, I can't make it to Utah... but I will make the trek to Delirium Tremens with you - unfinished business, you know!

Note to Self: Do not climb with anybody that makes a legitimate post to this thread!

Muffy got a job, so you should have roughly twice as much bandwidth available during business hours.

Sayjay, I'd like to say thanks again for sharing your ropes at Alphabet. There were a lot of people there, it was getting late, and if it had not been for you letting a total stranger take a trip up your topropes I don't think I would have gotten any evening routes in. May your good karma be returned when you least expect it (and most need it)! [ jk ]

I need to know if I should get beers for this evening to go with my scotch. It'll be in action if you want to wait up until, oh, about 2 in the morning! Or perhaps you can wake'n'beer?
