  1. I understand he was wounded in the buttocks. So can we say that John Kerry takes it in the ass?
  2. There is a pretty cool steep roof route at Obed in Tennessee called Ronnie Ray-Gun.
  3. Scott you posted it in Spray...it's fair game. Besides, what did you expect? A bunch of glowing reminescence of the good 'ol days of a charismatic hands-off style president who's policies were about 50/50 on the effective scale? Personally, I liked Regan. I thought he was charismatic, and he WAS a uniter, not a divider. As a person, I thought he was really pursuing what he felt was best for ALL of us. Unfortunately, he was a non detail oriented type and there were plenty of blunders. Iran-contra, record tax cuts followed by record deficits (sounds familiar eh?) an Interior Sec that was probably the single worst in history, S&L scandal and bailout a major shift in tax burden to the middle class. But he has success too, essentially outspending the USSR on defense until they reached the breaking point, firing the air traffic controller assholes who illegally went on strike, and the incalcuable effect of uniting the country. In his re-election campaign he won 49 states, losing only Mondale's homestate of Minnesota. He appointed the first woman Justice to the Supreme Court. He made MLK day a national holiday.
  4. Werd. Don did some nice stuff with Ornette Coleman. And that's not a trumpet he's holding kids.
  5. Right at 15" at 5'9" 148lb. I reckon that makes me a certifiable buff mofo.
  6. Pay attention Scott, he already said it's because you are a Completely Obnoxious Asshole.
  7. I started to copy that to the clipboard too because I had an inkling (and that ain't a baby octopus) that it would dissappear. Good job parrot, have a cracker.
  8. Not quite banning, but funny how quick crazyjz's "mattp public service" post got pulled. Shoulda figured that would happen...could have been moved to spray though. I suppose that would require removing the stick from someone's ass though, might need a crowbar for that. BTW, I know someone who might loan out a crowbar for the job.
  9. Troy?
  10. As you may or may not know, the majority of the Army Corp of Engineers is civilian. Some of my coworkers are in Iraq acting as project managers in reconstruction efforts. This is a clip of news from this week: "Mullah Success Continues. Twenty (20) megawatts of electricity, (17 MW derated) was added to the Iraqi power grid as the rehabilitated Mullah Seven Generator Unit at the Mullah Power Station was brought online June 2, 2004 in Mullah, Iraq, as announced by the Gulf Region Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Additional days testing and verification of the restored turbine have been completed to confirm the operation of the generator. This is the second unit to be brought online in the last three weeks at Mullah." The electricity infrastructure is more stable, and in better shape than before the war, with electricty available around 16-18 hrs a day compared to a typical 8-12 hrs before. Hope we can the f-outta dodge soon.
  11. Evangelical says time for revival
  12. Hey Chris, did you miss the "Thursday the 10th" part of Mike's message?
  13. Except there it would mean "I already have 17 wives"
  14. "Ryan Thill of the Pierce County, Wash., Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that one of the two male climbers had died but could not say which one it was. She said she would probably not know until late at night. The names of the two climbers were being withheld until the families were notified."
  15. Tex, it is right there at the falls themself. Kinda in the area left of the Lost Arrow and on over to the falls (i.e. between the arrow and the falls). Basically, it's a late July-Oct area because of the water. Kohl has put up some routes over there. One of his starts just left of the start of the LA CHimney. Another starts over by Freestone. EDITED to say: I said late July-OCt, and he was suggesting late June. It could actually be a nice area for late June because the mist off the falls could be a nice little air conditioner. I'm not too familiar with the specific routes on the Falls Wall, but I know some of them are closer to the Arrow than the falls, so the routes might not be wet at all.

  17. Not if he uses his fists. I don't think "tries" is applicable here.
  18. Yes. The LA tip is a fun outing too.
  19. For shooting birds on the wing. You know, quail grouse pheasant dove etc. Or speed freaks on a robbery binge.
  20. Hey L, can you elaborate on that a little? I'm probably going to pick up a pair of the "S". Fuzzing around the seams or just in general or what? Did they not leak before and are now or is the seam grip just for abrasion protection?
  21. Which frame? 17, 19, 26, or 34?
  22. Josh, the short answer is that there are existing regulations that "draw the line" so to speak. You cannot legally own a fully automatic weapon without a specific federal firearms license. You cannot legally own RPGs. Magazine capacity on shotguns is more or less irrelevant. It only takes one shot from a 12 gauge to put someone down. That said, 99% of the shotguns in the hands of the public have a maximum 5 shell magazine, and most of these have the removable plugs in the magazine to limit them to 3 (certain game seasons in some states limit your mag size...quail and dove season for example). If I need 11 shots at my disposal I can reload or carry multiples. I can't think of any situation where I'd need more than 5 personally. I believe (not certain on this one) that there is also a minimum barrel length that is legal for shotguns to limit "sawed off" type weapons (which is silly because any asshole can buy a hacksaw or cutting torch and do the job in five minutes). Clinton signed a law that limited the mag size on handguns. Before the ban you could buy Glocks that would hold around 17 rounds (depending on model/cal). Now it's 11 unless you can get ahold of some of the pre-ban magazines. There are lots of existing restrictions. NRA uses the slippery slope argument and I feel it's valid to an extent. You need hardcores on both sides of any issue if you truly want a middle ground solution.
  23. Look in Alpinist 4, Voytek got it done.
