Axial precession. Orbital stretch. Variable tilt. Solar output. Take your anthropogenic socialist vehicle and shove it, dumb ass.

The non-sustainability of the communist model "ended" The Soviet Union. Reagan helped accelerate its demise with huge deficit military spending that their centralized economy was unable to match. Gorbachev was simply the pragmatist who signed the death certificate in a commendably peaceful fashion. Now, instead of extending our hand and allying our two nations, Bush and Rice are busy placing missiles and airbases all around their borders. Just plain dumb.

Just relocate. I hear there's a house for sale over by the rifle range.

Don't worry. Upon your return from the mountain everything will be just as you left it...

Sorry. But, ya know, I hear tings....

No WiFi in Icicle Creek. They'll need an air-card - and they're too cheap for that.

No. Pics of you and Maylou at last year's ropeup.

If all the moderators will be at rope-up, I propose that this would be a GREAT weekend to push the bounds of moral decency on this website.

Better lock up the donuts!

It's been happening to me too. Just the past 24 hrs or so.

Anyone's wife ever think the time spent on this site is suspect? My wife asked me if she could check this place out about a year ago. Lucky for me, Arch and Muffy weren't talking dirty that day!

The vast MARJORITY of private [highly paid] SECURITY contractors ARE NOT local nationals. Don't obfusticate Security contractors with the bulk of local utility contractors. I don't need experience with this type of work to figure out the scam and the specific intent of the administration in availing themselves of this type of resource. One of those Navy years was spent preparing all the intelligence briefings for COMPACFLT and you won't convince me much significant has changed relative to the relationships between the military, intel, and executive in the interim - in fact, the Iraq war clear signals it's worse than ever in almost every respect. And I contracted extensively with DoS/USAID in that 30 years, spending plenty of time working in U.S. Embassies to know what's going on that side of things as well. Bottom line is I've hung out with enough private security folks, military attaches, and spooks in the interim to know just how little has changed on one hand and what a complete rape of our nation is happening by a corrupt, imperial executive on the other. If anyone is naive here it's you. I see. So, on one hand you want to enjoy the stature that your military service has rightly given you. But with the other hand you want to exclude non-vets from the debate even while claiming that you don't need personal knowledge of said particulars to formulate your own opinion? Like I said before, sounds like nothing but ego to me.

The success of a marriage is inversely proportional to the square of wife's propensity to NAG.

Speaking of worms, Tvrash, might I suggest a dose of Albendazole for that "gut" issue you seem unable to beat? I've taken it already. It worked beautifully to get rid of the 'little friend' that hitched a ride back home with me after my last Himalayan climbing trip. I didn't know it was effective against Gerbilworm!

I won't ask how you found that.

We're celebrating our 12th anniversary this weekend, and I wholeheartedly agree with the above as being the reason we've made it this far(and are still very happy to keep going ). We are complete opposites in almost every aspect of our lifestyles and interests,we do almost no activities as a couple, but when it comes to the big issues of a relationship, like honesty, commitment, compassion, respect, etc, and core values in general, we couldn't be more alike. Those are things that matter, in our book. The other stuff is just window dressing, it'll come and go and change and grow and die--not really the things on which you want to base your reason for being together. Good comments. Met at a party in college. Married 11 months later. Together 23 years last month. Two kids; 18 and 21 now - in two different univer$itie$. She hates climbing, but that's ok - she's a skiing maniac. She loves slowpitch - I hate it. Now that the kids are (sorta) gone it's just the two of us for the first time. Kind of weird. I keep telling her we should start over and adopt, but she has this idea that we're gonna travel more. I say Alaska, Europe, Chile. She says Belize, Tahiti, Australia. It's gonna be an interesting rest of our lives. Would I trade my married life for a Fred Beckey-type life? No.

You've summarized why a secular-leaning conservative like myself would rather put his political lot in with the hopeful religious - and why the faithless don't govern well.

"Neocon" = "Jew" = "Zionist" in JosephH's world. Hence, his constant drubbing about conspiracies. Read some of his past rants.

I love it! The same losers who gripe about the government listening in on suspect overseas communications are the very same idiots who scream the loudest on Monday morning that the government "failed to connect the dots!" ala 9/11. They also happen to be the same screwballs who support government/single payer health care and have no problem whatsoever with some future agent of the government sticking his gloved hand up their ass and recording his findings in a government database. Fucking idiots, all. The ultimate hypocrites.

Hmmm. Let me see if I have this right. It's the Neocons. The Neocons. The Neocons. The Neocons. The Neocons. I guess if you say it enough, it's true! But we all know who you think "The Neocons" really are...don't we. There's a racist side to your belief system that you need to come to terms with. Not to mention a fair amount of paranoia and ego.

You rescue a dog from a cold, stormy night and put it on a rug in front of the fireplace. The dog now thinks you are a God. You rescue a cat from a cold, stormy night and put it on a rug in front of the fireplace. The cat now thinks it is a God.

I hung this here a few years ago, but it's worthy of a repost: Man before marriage: Man after marriage:
