Good point. This is what is so frustrating about guys like JosephH, et al who think Bush is the devil incarnate. The fight between the executive branch and congress has been back and forth since the beginning...and not a peep about LBJ from the likes of him! And how about FDR - probably the most powerful exec in American history...and a hero to these same self-described "sentinels of freedom".

Glad you amuse yourself, junior. I think the article sums up what conservative men already know: Little pussy lib-men are more than willing to negotiate away what little masculinity they ever possessed for short-term gain. This premise translates perfectly into their world view as well. Tell me; what do the ladies say when you show up riding that little bike?

I think you'll find that the politics of the current environmental movement are in direct conflict with the stated interests of WCC. Hopefully your group will be a force for reasonable access and not one of endless compromise with the "let nature take over" crowd. The Great Bolt Debate aside - based on our conversations here, Matt, I think you are on the right track regarding trailhead access. I would love to attend this event, but I have class that evening from 5pm until 10. Please keep me posted on future meetings. (I'll be nice. )

Among the findings: * College-age women who reported having feminist male partners also reported higher quality relationships that were more stable than couples involving non-feminist male partners. Note the "plural" nature of the word relationship vis a vis college aged women. Are we to understand that all college aged women are slutty - or just feminists? * College guys who were themselves feminists and had feminist partners reported more equality in their relationships. Read: She's wearing the pants. And she's standing right there to make sure he answers the poll questions correctly. * Older women who perceived their male partners as feminists reported greater relationship health and sexual satisfaction. What is "relationship health"? A pussified male who won't talk back? (Seattle's full of 'em.) * Older men with feminist partners said they had more stable relationships and greater sexual satisfaction. Read: "My menopausal wife is becoming more militant with each passing day. I think I'll head down to the tavern and see if things are quieter there. With any luck, alcohol will drown out her ever-increasing belligerence."

Sad, but true. After The Clintons left The White House - and the photo ops of Sox on Hillary's lap and the children's book stories were no longer of political value - the little dickens was useful no more and the poor little feline was unceremoniously dumped. The story is in this month's Atlantic magazine. This, of course, begs the question: If Ms. Rodham can't even remain loyal to her beloved little kitty, is it a stretch to believe she may not have any loyalties at all? Hmmmm?

More of Mukasey's testimony that you didn't include in your post: ...Mr. Mukasey noted that a 2002 memorandum by Jay Bybee, an assistant attorney general at the time, stating that the president had the power to circumvent the Geneva Conventions as well as laws banning torture, was later disavowed and superseded. “Would it be a safe characterization of what you’ve just said that you repudiate this memo as not only being contrary to law, but also contrary to the values America stands for?” Mr. Leahy asked. “I do,” the nominee replied. “Thank you,” Mr. Leahy said. “Is there such a thing as a commander-in-chief override that would allow the immunization of acts of torture that violate the law?” “Not that I’m aware of,” Mr. Mukasey sa

Good film. I liked that quiet ending in the back of the cab. I don't care what my right-wing brethren say about him - George Clooney is probably the best actor around today. "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" was da shit. I've probably watched it half a dozen times.

I'm not sure about Tvash's methane emissions. I suspect his farts are mostly just Al Gore's spoo.

I've seen it - and if you call that "raw data" then you truly are just a Kool Aid drinking stooge who's mama spoon fed the peaches for just a few too many years. (Does she still bathe you too?) BTW: I'm still waiting for that for that graph you promised showing The Milankovitch Cycle producing a modern ice age! Do you have it? Or were you just making shit up? - again.

Kepler and Newton's concepts of motion and gravity are now known as LAWS. Are you proposing to give anthropogenic global warming the same stature?
-
Huh???? That is among the most convoluted, uninformed, revisionist rants I've read in a while - and you're in good company here. I would rate it a blend somewhere between Virendra7 and Dave Schultz. BTW: Your grandma probably knew...or at least suspected. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,439168,00.html

Really? Sure looks skiable to me!

I didn't realize you were a constitutional scholar or that you held Sandra Day O'Connor in such contempt. Didn't she once epitomize the "moderate" that progressives hold in such high regard...as long as they vote the correct way? Sour grapes, Joe. Even if Hillary is somehow elected in 2008, Bush's real legacy is John Roberts. Over, and done.
-
I'll entertain you with this for now. I don't have time to dig through my more-recent textbooks for the graph that lays this out in a more spectacular fashion: Now, I would really like to see that graph you claim to have showing that the four factors I mentioned indicate an ice age underway now. Do you have it?
-
...but then, I don't see where you have presented anything. This seems to be a common theme in virtually all of your posts.

...you mean elected...not to mention re-elected with 49 of 50 states. Exactly, pretty much like the current band of treasonous felons esconced in the Whitehouse and pretty much the same "gang-who-couldn't-shoot-straight" incompetency across the board. At last! A "progressive" who's willing to admit that... Bush Was Elected!! I think this is real progress, Joseph. Don't worry - I won't tell Matt.

Unfortunately for you, my not-very-well-read young friend, the anomalies in the earth's motion you cite should be producing an ice age right about now. They are not. Wonder why? Hurry, get back on the interwebs for the next episode of INCOMPLETE ARGUMENT MAN!!!!!! You remind me the defense attorney I watched from the jury box admit, as evidence, a letter from a battered woman to her alleged batterer in an attempt to prove that she had violated a no contact order she had previously filed against the accused. The contents of the letter? A hospital bill for her injuries from the battering she sent him for reimbursement. Please stay away from all things scientific. You're your own worst enemy. Milankovitch Cycle. And you are incorrect about how this cycle would superimpose against your supposed present-day ice age. It matches up with the climatic record pretty well - including the present. I think you have our positions completely backward. You might want to PM me on this one before you end up with your foot deep in your mouth.
