She's correct. uh, which part? that 11 mountaineers died on some peak she'd never heard of, or that women don't climb mountains? That climbing a big mountain like K2 (or any dangerous peak) serves no purpose and that "heroism" has better definitions already available. I think it was Mallory's son who recounted later in his life that as a boy he didn't understand or care that his father would be a climbing hero and legend--only that his dad never came home.

Huh? Every account I've ever read of his shoot-down indicates he was flying an A4 Skyhawk. Are you just makin' shit up again, Tvash? And "Flags of Our Fathers" is a Clint Eastwood movie about the American invasion of Iwo Jima and the aftermath of the famous photo of US Marines raising the flag. That'd be WWII--not Vietnam. Are you off your meds again?

Look at the Walter Reed Army Hospital debacle. That's what government health care would look like nation-wide. Re malpractice: Do you really think the government would hold itself accountable and avil itself to lawsuits? And the flip-side of those expensive tests you complain about are that they wouldn't be ordered under a cost-control environment--and people would die. edit: Medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of gross income are tax deductible. If you paid $8k .p. you must be doing pretty well financially.

Nationalized health care in Canada, Western Europe, etc, isn't "free" either. You do understand that, right? I know very little about the nationalized health care of other countries. What I DO know is that our healthcare/insurance system here in the United States is not working. It would be nice to see republicans at least admit that. I don't think you understand. No healthcare is free--anywhere. Somebody pays for it. My problems with any proposed single-payer/government controlled system lie not with any equity issues but, rather, with issues of freedom and control. The old Hillary-Care proposal would have put too much power in the hands of government. Are you really for that?

Chicago Democrats!...Like Barack.

All Americans do have access to health care via the ER. And that does suck, but most of the tools on this site support a government single-payer type system where the government has even more power over our lives than they already do. Didn't I see you kickin steps at almost 12,000 feet on Rainier just last month?

I'm going (D) because of all the free stuff I'll get when we finally tax 'da shit outta those filthy rich families that make more than $35,000 combined household income. Also, employment is overrated anyway, and I guess I didn't really need that 401k I've been saving all my adult life with Big Papa to take care of me. I also like the idea of sitting down at a table and singing Kumbaya with all those people we just "thought" we really bad. Being told what to say, think, and believe is, of course, necessary, and I guess I don't really need all the food I've been eating.

How dare you, sir.

Of course, you're right. Like that time when The Enquirer broke that story about Rush Limbaugh's housekeeper supplying him with painkillers. We all waited patiently for the story to filter into the mainstream media before we passed judgment...

I realize that sex is nobody's business, but here's a guy who's popular with the libtards, likes to lecture everone about social morality, and has secretly fathered a child with another woman while his wife is fighting cancer for her life. What a class act. At least Newt had the balls to divorce his dying wife and not just sneak around. Only a hair more classy, IMO. Does one become a politician first and a philanderer second, or do I have that backward? Either way, the populists and union thugs can give up on the idea of Goldie Locks becoming Obama's V.P. choice.

Let's see...was that the red rocket I was supposed to fire?

The problem isn't guns in the wilderness, the problem is two unaccompanied minors with guns. I didn't even realize it was legal for a 16 and a fourteen year old to hunt alone--and no, I don't like the idea of two kids out there with high-powered rifles and would support a law requiring adult supervision. Why does bear season start so early? Shouldn't it correspond with deer/elk season and lower late-season hiker traffic?

that's right. i am first one to admit, that the standards even in wa state are waaay too low. BC requires 3000 hours. radio and tv stations advertise cars- somehow i don't think you are walking everywhere? and contrary to your sorry beliefs massage therapy is a recognized, and licensed medical profession, including europe.oh, strangely enough so called medical professionals frequently schedule appointments with me when they have an injury. subject, judged by the number of your post, most likely you are not really familiar with. OK I let you go now. I hear Comrade Tvashtarketena wait anxiously for his appointment hot polish massage by your soft love hand. Go now. I not judge your slav man love custom any more.

...so, you massage other guys for a living? I didn't realize we were issuing L-1 visas for that particular, um, eh, er, "skill". that explains your mom being here- right? besides most likely your homophobic attitude stems from the massage your uncle bubba gave you in a tooshed at the age of 5? that would also explain the state of your intellectual development. and mr bigmouth- i would recommend to talk shit about immigrants fri night in "Harnas" on Milwaukee Av in chicago. i'll give you whole 5 seconds on your feet before you hit the floor. till you do that i would remind your sorry ass T-A=0 (zero is what your person represents anyway) I'll bet you have really soft hands, yes?

Fortunately, you have no spawn of your own. Good news any way you look at it.

I'm sure the vast majority of refugees here have something far worse they're fleeing than what you now perceive your country to be. I'll bet most of them could have gone a lot of other places, but chose to come here. Why do you suppose that is? You used to be a voice of reason here, but you now sound just like the choir. Congratulations.

Those days are gone forever. You should just let 'em go.

Actually, it's Obama that's being accused of pulling the race card. Current events ADD?
