NW Corner is 5.9
Supposedly there's a 5.7 route on the north face but I haven't found it, and if I did it didn't look good to solo.
All the other spires are easy.
Problem was she (the salesperson) didn't even know they had any goats in stock when I asked. Then when I saw one behind the counter she was completely clueless about what the goat was for and totally copped attitude when I didn't want to buy the goat because it was the wrong size.
Just thought I'd bring this thread up again since I had a less than enjoyable experience at FF the other day. I have generally had good experiences with these folks. Not worth recounting the details, but the other day the salesperson there was not only rude but completely fucking clueless. Atleast the people at REI are friendly.
Shit the Iraqi people probably just want some peace and stability and at this point they probably don't care all that much at whose hands that comes. You actually think that Iraq and the world is better off with Iraq under the control of Saddam than a fairly liberal government allied with the U.S.?
East Face of Lex is definitly my favorite route at WA Pass. That's supposed to be the bomb link-up: first few pitches of tooth and claw (11a friction)into standard East Face. BobbyPeru would know the status of the bolts on T&C.
Hmmmm .... Mike Layton was involuntarily "rescued" after bungling up the descent on Big4.
I've had to "rescue" myself after an episode of voluntary intoxication turned awry.
Who else has been "rescued?"
Cool. Point is those bolts are lame. The chimney is way secure. Freedom Rider is a bitchin route but I haven't yet done the last part of it from where it hooks up with Lib Crack. Bring at least two #4's and a #5 camalot-size for the offwidth.
Third pitch varation to Freedom Rider on Lib Bell: fourty feet of just bigger than fists with nice crux bulge. Best real offwidth I've climbed in the northwest. I've got some photos somewhere.
Re: East Face of Lex - the tied off 2x4 is bomber and the retro bolts on the 5.9 squeeze should be chopped and probably will be this summer.
Harkin drives an old Chevy small block circa 1965, with vertical PVC pipes bolted into the bed to hold his skis: one pair for ballet, one pair for the bumps, one pair for ariels, and one pair for plain speed!!
