Horrid aint the word for Green Bay--ask the ramones. But I gotta say this for them: they're true fans. I've driven by Lambeau Field on a couple 0 degree Sundays to see it packed with cars for an away game. They name streets after players, re-bulb their christmas lights to green and gold, and get married in packer-themed tuxedos. Even when the Packers sucked for like 20 years, they supported them--hard to understand in a town that abandons the Mariners when they're below .500. And hard to understand if you're not a serious sports fan, which i am definitely not.

I love my country the way I love my family. Not because it's better than others, but because I know it. I feel comfortable disagreeing with family members and don't have to chestbeat to prove I'm a part of it. And that, my small-minded trolling fuckwad friend HRoark, is patriotism.

If it's tunes for driving, you won't hear the difference from a remastered version. On good speakers or some choice Grado headphones, the remastered CD of XTC's English Settlement sounds more lively and clear, but I generally don't kick back and do that kind of close listening to Partridge & Company.

I rather liked OW's trick of moving part of thread to spray at an arbitrary point in its devolution and being explicit in what he intended to do. Wasn't perfect, but we got the idea that the thread drifted too much for the original forum. In this case, why not just make Jason's post a locked sticky and let us carry on in Spray? FWIW, I've seen mod edits elsewhere that just say "edited by (mod) to remove offensive content." Works a whole lot better than re-representing what a poster said. The thing is, everybody knows that "take a motrin, cunt" is purely trolling to inflame; IMO a result of allowing inflamatory trolling so readily in Spray means a handful of posters, and everybody knows who they are, just can't restrain themselves outside of Spray. The rest of us who can restrain ourselves depend on the occasional mod incident for clues as to what we all can put up with.
