The top of the the Brownstone wall is an amazing place. Its true that its a fairly big hike in but worth it once you're up there. The Black Dagger was a very nice route and the descent thru the gunsight very cool. It should be sunny early in the day and go mostly into the shade after a coupla pitches. I think theres a low 5th route up Cactus flower tower, I've only done the Cinnamon Hedgehog which may be a little more (but not much) than you're asking about. The approach as well as the descent were more than a little adventurous on that one. As long as you've got a fullish moon walking out of desert after dark isn't that bad...

Perhaps the physicist should have tested at a wide range of loads, maybe the best rubber is different for very light and very, um, nevermind.

Nobody on this site has not been lost sometime, or if they haven't they should have. Your little finger is the least important for climbing, its the ring finger and the bird finger that are important unless you are into wide then the skin gets really important. Bird finger is important on the road or with an incompetent belayer. And last I noticed, nobody is getting younger. Yeah but 3 times, almost in a row? Thats what I thought, not any more. I thought only immature 53 yearolds thought that! The only peeps getting younger are the ones outclimbing me

I have seen people at Smith toproping Double Trouble thru aluminum rap rings with holes already worn in them. After telling the girl it was not safe and advising her to have her guy lower her slowly, her bf told her (and I) what an asshole I was and to keep going. We left the area quickly. I notice that most rap rings in sport areas are solid steel these days. Stewardship of this kind of gear may be the most viable (and nonregulatory) answer here.

And whats not to love about 200' pitches. 2. 5 (easiest?) routes up Mt washington incl a winter ascent (finally, although it was xmas eve 2011) 3. Getting lost in the fog in Boston Basin and ending up on Sahale via the Quien Sabe glacier. 4. 4 more t-shirt routes at the city (incl thin slice), looks like I'm down to the Crack of Doom. 5. Ride the Lightning with my wife. Everything I love and hate about climbing with that woman in one perfect autumn day.

Hmm, I really liked this one. I will admit Sandy did stay with the crack as long as possible!

Good advice for others, just bad directions: Index is on Hwy2 (I'm sure Drederek knows this... ) Doh! Well I guess I used to know that!

Index is an hour or so east on I-90, no end to the possibilities there. Its somewhere to achieve your stated goal and also a place you'll really enjoy spending some time at.

+1 although it took a few years (maybe more than a few) for me to figure this out. When you're young and you don't yet know that you are never going climb 5.1X the numbers can take on far too much importance. I wonder what the OP has to say about this now.
