'Smoke Out' is the lower and smaller. 'Big Honker' is the upper, larger, sloping ledge. I "slept" on Big Honker just for the hell of it. More like "dozed fitfully". I have a ledge I built that I slept on (just for the hell of it) part way up Dana's Arch, that also survived a big flake pulled off Uncle Ben's at Squamish that punched a hole through the fabric (since repaired.) (Mine is the upper) You can borrow it if you want the big wall experience.

Populations are only going to increase. The crowd-to-surface-area in European mountains reached critical mass some time ago. We are catching up now and need to educate the masses who are/will head into the mountains. Marked trails, wilderness ethic propaganda, whatever. Don't like the braided-trail-to-a-destination effect? The status quo won't work in perpetuity. (Good thread topic, BTW.)

This show was about U-869, as stated, and was also covered extremely well in Robert Kurson's book, Shadow Divers. If you have any interest in U-boats and wreck diving whatsoever, then I highly recommend this book. Captivating. I think I read it in, like, 2 or 3 days. Couldn't put it down. :tup: That was an awesome book.

Come and See (1985) Enemy At The Gates and though not a combat movie, Schindler's List is right up there with other WWII cinematic masterpieces.
