  1. I guess police and NG force makes the right to destroy the seattle city then hey? Yes I do believe it was initially supposed to be peaceful. But you dont want to admit you are wrong is all http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Seattle.asp "While the majority were non-violent protestors, a small group started some violence and looting that led to the Seattle police and National Guard declaring a state of emergency (it was even termed as Martial Law by the Mayor of Seattle at one point). This led to the issuing of curfews, arresting, tear-gassing, pepper spraying and even shooting rubber bullets at innocent, non-violent protestors. This became the mainstream media's major coverage focus often portraying all the protestors as "loony leftists" or violent groups with no clue as to what they are talking about. (Remember, the mainstream media is corporate-owned as well and certain media conglomerates make up some of the largest multinational corporations that directly benefit from the current form of free trade)"
  2. Comfort the lame. I think I'm going to cry. Yeah all this from a guy that wants a mega mall next to smith rocks.
  3. That's self-righteous. Don't live so far away how's that. You think you can say that riding a bike 50 miles or more round trip into seattle each time I want to go there is reasonable? Dont back peddle when your argument was flawed
  4. Besides I look forward to the day I can drive my car down there on some freshly imported Iraqui oil
  5. I'll take your comments into consideration when you come join me for that commute. Until then it's full of shit. I don't know what you mean. It's really easy to say ride your bike in downtown seattle. Then around once you get there. Some people dont live in the town and are travelling from farther away. It's like telling Dwayner to ride his bike to seattle from Tacoma each time he goes and implying it's easier.. The way you state it (very self righteously as well I might add) that anyone who doesnt ride their bike is silly....

  8. I agree, in this case anyway. Stopping the traffic is a way to get a lot of attention to causes that noone knows much about (gets on the news where it wouldn't otherwise). For this situation, everyone already knows what's going on, unless they live in a hole or something. This cause is guaranteed to get airplay and a march that does not inconvenience commuters will still demonstrate the numbers that are against the war. So there does not seem to be a reason or need to stop traffic. That said, they (we?) are NOT trying to stop traffic right? The march is on a Saturday and travels through an area gridded with parallel streets. No problems. Fuckin up city traffic should almost never be an option. Go stand with pickets on the sidewalk for all I care. Just stay out of the streets. Shit there was a protest on the streets months ago. They created some unnecessary traffic issues. Everyone already knows about the issue.
  9. All the peace marchers should just fly into Iraq to become Human Shields. Maybe Saddam will issue them bullseye shirts when they arrive. Yeah, 'cause peace is a stupid and worthless ideal, and the only way to solve problems is by laying waste to human lives and tearing countries apart. God forbid that humans would have figured out how to be civilized by now. Exactly. I am surprised you are still here.

  11. The truth is that anyone with a personal opinion that differs from that of Greg_W is a moron. To believe in freedom, and the right to gather peacefully is a mistaken belief, and to think otherwise will result in physical violence (and that violence is deserved). And in keeping with the time honored and rewarded value of deceit, you would intentionally take advantage of people by selling snake oil. If they want to protest go do it in some public park and out of the streets. Let the clubbing begin
  12. I'd say the server is fucked where all the images are stored.

  18. Phukkin a dudes, it's good to hear things are in shape somewhere
  19. Forgive me for not spending the necessary time to research, but did you climb it in '85 with Twight et al? Otherwise I didn't know it had seen another ascent... In any case, fantastic job to all! The conditions for Forrest and me were much less scary than this sounds. Our problems had more to do with too much deep snow. It took us a painfully long time to slog our way up to our high camp near the base of the first pillar, and we found very little in the way of rock pro (and most of that required lots of excavation). Spindrift and unconsolodated flutings were a constant. The ice on the pillars was for the most part solid for us. daylward, I know rat dog did not climb it with twight et al. His climb was just never documented. I think he posted something in here a few weeks back about doing it in the late 80s or something... Knowing rat dog I dont doubt it at all..
  20. He can handle it. I think it's cool he has a bored on his site.
  21. Non technical note- It's Chris Koziarz isn't it?... Looks like he's making a nice comeback from his injuries a few season's back and I must say that is pretty cool he is now able to climb at this level. Cheers to the other dude's too Dont worry about idiots hijacking your report I'd sure like to see some photos of where the line goes if they have any to offer.
