  1. Just south of I-90 and a bit West of the summit are some slabs (above talus) near the top of a ridge. I have reached them before by hiking up logging roads. At the end of these roads are a bunch of “Mining Claims” for crystals. The approach isn’t so bad but I was wondering if anyone else has been there and if they approached from the other side. PP
  2. Bringin' it back up.
  3. Just bringin' this guy back to the top. PP
  4. Cool crack to practice on is Pressure Drop. Go climb Zipper and lead or do TR laps on Pressure Drop on the way back. PP
  5. Hmm I guess the article is a response to my question. But it merely restated what was said before not providing a rational for why the increase in production would not have occurred if the tarrif was never imposed. In other words why would a Canadian producer voluntarily reduce its revenue stream? I do not believe they would but want to hear an argument as to why they would. PP
  6. PLC - Just a question why would this not have happen if a tarrif was never imposed? PP
  7. CBS - I say examine the money supply! PP
  8. Ah I never said that they were the same merely the expression of the same underlying forces! Silly guys! (and Gals!) PP
  9. My guess is rising comoditiy prices and easing on the dollar will cause inflationary pressures down the road which will stop the fall of interest rates.
  10. Readers Digest Version: The enjoyment of Trad climbing by men is merely a different manifestation of the same drives that in some men express themsleves as having a homosexual orientation. It's science baby! PP
  11. You look like a young Jeff Smoot!
  12. I thought this said "Drinking beers and dropping acid" What a dissappointment
  13. It’s such a rush when you have one of those Eureka moments. When suddenly some obvious truth is revealed. That happened to me today. It was the combination of a nice summer day and several postings on this site combining into one Eureka moment. I was walking downtown reveling in one of the glories of summer: beautiful women. Short. Tall. Standing. Sitting. Smiling. Frowning. Young. Old. I realized that almost every woman I saw brought a smile to my face. Thinking a bit further I decided well that’s the way God made me. Feeling trapped in my genetic cage I the decided to try to find the same joy in looking at men. I failed. Sure some guys were cute but most seemed a bit unattractive and the more I wanted to find them attractive the more unattractive they became. I decided that my heterosexuality could not be denied. I was indeed pretty much trapped in my genetic cage. Then it hit me. My love of sport climbing is just another manifestation of the same urges and desires that express themselves as my heterosexuality. Think of the character and traits we consider feminine. Then think of the traits that we consider masculine. Now think of Sport and Trad climbing. Trad climbing is a celebration of the masculine: competition, danger, risk and death (death is particularly interesting when we consider the symbolic death that occurs after ejaculation) The feminine is consensus, joy in each others successes and the joy of repeated success. (think of multiple orgasms) These fem traits temper the more traditional “male” traits inherent in the sport. I won’t belabor the issue with many examples but I would like to throw a few into the pot. Look at the competitive scene in Yosemite. Didn’t Hot Henry Barber almost get beaten up after stealing some FAs? Peter Croft was slammed and ridiculed when he first appeared on the scene. Now compare this to Alan Watt’s encouraging other to repeat his test pieces. He revealed and was inspired by there successes. Think of how traditional climbing objectives are often phallic in nature and think of Sport climbing’s infatuation with caves. And finally think of Layton’s macho posting of his injuries and compare them to Anna’s joyous posting of an actual climb! Finally think of the broad appeal of Sport climbing it appeals much wider percentage of the population than Trad climbing: I would say maybe by a 9:1 ratio. Now please in no way assume that I am making a value judgement here. I am not. We are resplendent in our divergence. I just find it interesting how some of the same drives that can express themselves in our sexuality can also manifest themselves in our choice of climbing styles. Sure in my youth I experiemnted with trad climbing but now that I am more comfortable with myself I find myself mostly a sport climber. PP
  14. Uber artist Michael Gira commented that with the new artist operated distribution system his father’s prediction that if he chose the rock n roll lifestyle he would end up being a shipping clerk finally came true!
  15. I do not D/L music fro the internet but the last three CDs I purchased were directly from the "artist" themself on virtually undistributed labels. Maybe Sales are dropping because what the labels offer is poor. PP
  16. Anyone notice the similarity between the guy next to Icegirl in the first photo and the guy next to Allison in the third? Amazing that I never noticed that before. PP
  17. Oh yea Dwayner you wimp! You missed the after film party where everyone dressed as their favorite character! All I can say about the event was that what happened at the party stays at the party. PP
  18. Hey GregM – While a forum for every goofy category imaginable would be nice in theory, in practice I believe such a scheme would prove to be very difficult to use. For example, Jon is having trouble locating the first Rope-up thread right now. Just imagine how difficult it would be to find something with an almost infinite number of forums to search. Also if everyone started asking for new forums I think Jon and Timmy will be overwhelmed and may even stop their valiant coding efforts to create the super groovy NEW ROCK CLIMBING FORUM . Just my two cents! PP
  19. Why goto Squamish when the selection is so much better in Vancouver?
  20. Hey what's a Alpine related post doing in the NEW ROCK CLIMBIG FORUM? PP
  21. Wish I could but I gotta work. But as an aside....anyone do that new route to the right of Lovin Arms? I heard it was good but wondering how dirty it might be - particularly the crack parts. PP
  22. Stoves PP
  23. I want the first post in the NEW ROCK CLIMBING FORUM! PP
