DnD record is available! Not the Sylvian/Bailey disc. Which I am sure is not DND at all. By The way Dereck rules! He is kinda like the Fred Beckey of improvisational guitar.

Last night I went to a store looking for the new David Sylvian/Dereck Bailey collaboration. Alas I think the market for such music is way too small for a store to stock. But I did see Mr. Bailey has a Drum and Bass record that TLG should probably go buy and then report back concerning its quality. I did however buy the CD In A Silent Way (Miles Davis 1969) and drove home excited as I haven’t heard it since the 80’s. WOW What an amazing record. Sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Three keyboards (Josef Zawinal, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea) Jon McLoughlin on guitar. Dave Holland on bass. Tony Williams on Drums! And don’t forget Miles himself. With all those egos there is an unbelievable amount of space between the instruments. GO BUY IT ON YOUR WAY HOME TONIGHT!!!!!] PP

"The present euro zone structure is devastating for Germany," he says. "Our economy is bleeding. And I am convinced the UK would be crazy to join - you should stay out for as long as I can foresee." "Deflation has already arrived, in that our economic dynamism has disappeared," Nolling says. "There is no willingness among the private sector to invest, and euro zone rules have cut back public investment to an extent we haven't seen since the war." PP

Just a little reality as far as falling and safety: virtually any fall is potentially fatal. People have fallen and died in their bathroom or their front steps. I would rather risk a slip in the shower than take the long whipper on the 5.8 pitch on Online. I have taken long falls a couple near 50'and been fine. Took one about 10' and broke my arm. A friend took a 15'fall on Wide County and went directly to ICU and surgery. Another friend fell less than 10'at Index and broke his leg. Another broke her ankle falling 15'at Smith. The list can go on and on. PP

Worlds biggest, heaviest, most expensive cams?
Peter_Puget replied to faust's topic in The Gear Critic
A friend and myself each bought one last year with the goal of climbing some hard wide stuff. They seem to be good quality. We each bought the #9 and despite seeing them it is hard to imagine what the #12 looks like. The guy who makes is a nice guy who asnwers questions and ships promptly! Maybe we should start a rental service!?!?! PP -
The above post should say crampons are not needed!
-
I guess you aren't really developing any footwork so crampons are needed. But it would be nice to work on footwork too. Any ideas? Falling is a problem.

Dru you'd better lay off that BC leaf he was suggestiiong Clinton was a sex addict. Jeesh.

Here is an email to a site I thought interesting. It is a rejoinder to this : "I'm a newly-recovering methamphetamine addict. I am part of the growing wave of meth/sex dual addicts in the gay community, but working hard on living healthy. Being HIV positive demands it, really, and with a viral load now at 75 I have a shot at living a long time. As you can well imagine this issue is extremely important to me. I have just under 60 days of good sobriety after 3 years of increasing use, so I can't claim to be an expert on recovery issues … yet. But I'll tell you this: the only rigidity in my thinking is related to the tunnel vision of extreme attachment to my drugs of choice. In all other areas, my intelligence, perceptions, and feelings are quite fine (now), thank you. To use the language of recovery to make a political attack is not just Begala-esque, it is putrid and insulting. Oh wait, is there any difference? Bush, unlike our previous addict, I mean, president, all but admitted his addiction in this year's State of the Union address. Thus his compassion. Seriously, when he made his comment about how addiction reduces one's life focus into a single destructive compulsion – as an active addict at the time, I almost burst into tears. For Bush, outright admission would not have been proper, as it would have given a bit too much encouragement to those of us still wallowing in the self-pity of our addictions. Bush’s eloquent allusion to his past drug use was a far cry from Cleopatra "Queen of Denial" Clinton’s "I lit it, put my mouth on it, sucked it, but I’m sure no THC made it into my bloodstream" denial. I don’t know about you, but in my experience, an addict working on his problem is far more honest and trustworthy than someone who may or may not have been an addict, depending on what the definition of addict is, but is in denial about that or something, or in Clinton’s case, everything else." By the way I'll be the guy at 38 today begging for a belay - so be nice! PP

Bush is Da MAN! On AIDS, president Bush's commitment simply out-classes Bill Clinton's. By a mile. So too does his actual commitment to Africa, for all Clinton's grandstanding. Here's Bob Geldof on the current president: "You'll think I'm off my trolley when I say this, but the Bush administration is the most radical - in a positive sense - in its approach to Africa since Kennedy." Another great quote from a British AIDS activist: "Clinton talked the talk and did diddly squat, whereas Bush doesn't talk, but does deliver." PP

ROTC starts out at just under an inch then gets progressively wider into hands then suddenly turns into a large slot that you can squeeze into. If I remember correctly nothing larger than 2" is needed until here. Maybe a larger piece or two in the slot but at the top of the slot is perfect handcrack that takes #2.5 (#3?) friends. You probably want to bring a couple for this section. I havent been on the route for at least ten years so my memory could be off in the details. PP
