  1. thinker: congrats, smarty pants!
  2. some of these are so great!
  3. ahh, yes. snoboy must be operating on some similar logic. but somehow, yours still makes more sense.
  4. oh, it's coming, baby. you just start waxing your skis!
  5. muffy, how happy i will be when you live close enough that i can come over on my days off to drink alcoholic beverages of any sort and spray with you!
  6. that is so untrue! i'm a certified (and probably certifiable) "genius" ... and i only got 8 right. of course, i did live in belgium for 5.5 years. i think that helped. muffy, i think all that beer you drank at lunch screwed up your vision.
  7. where is cavey anyway? i miss the pisses of anger and spews of hatred ...
  8. i know i was the same as paco, so that might only be 3 ... but regardless, your observation might deserve some merit. perhaps it speaks to the types of temperaments that are attracted to sports like rock climbing and mountaineering. that or doing these stupid tests and spraying about them. we'd need a bigger sample to make such generalizations, though. maybe we can't get the administrators to make the temperament test a requirement for joining this board.
  9. i got 7. i think that's pretty good since i don't like beer!
  10. are you sure? i thought you were only allowed to climb routes that at least 100 other people deemed safe enough to climb that day. in fact, i don't think i believe you. i think i might have to ask mike about that tonight.
  11. nothing wrong with a little watchin' is there? in fact, sometimes i wanna watch so bad i'll even skip out on doing something really cool to go to the climbing gym on my day off from work ...
  12. maybe 'cause nobody's been desperate enough to waste their time and money on it yet?!?!?
  13. you can call me a bitch - just don't call me ma'am.
  14. the matrix? right on, dude; that was a cool movie! (link please?) i did find this: It should be emphasized that there are no right or wrong attractions; in individual cases, any temperament can be attracted to any other, and for all sorts of reasons. On the other hand -- and this is said cautiously -- more than four decades of people-watching (I began observing character styles in 1956) reveal that romantic attractions are not random and indiscriminate, but show clear patterns and frequencies. In other words, persons of certain temperaments tend to be attracted to persons of certain other temperaments, and if they botch up the mating somehow, they are likely to be attracted to, and again marry, another person of the same temperament as their first mate.
  15. as if he would know!
  16. join the elite club. apparently we are "rather rare, comprising no more than, say, one percent of the population." i think we should start a club.
  17. ooh; is there gonna be a fight here? 'cause if there is, i wanna watch!!!
  18. i not *that* interested, greg w, but thanks anyway. and dr. fucking amazing ... you kill me! i did find a little more descriptive page on that website to describe the rational. among the four types of rationals, i'm sure i'm one of two particular ones but i'm not sure which one. do let us know if you find a more complete test ...
  19. i agree. some of their supplied answers didn't really fit what i would have said off of the top of my head. and some of them i had a really difficult time choosing between. but anyway ... "Rational (NT)" ... analytical - that's definitely me. and apparently i'm "very scarce". hmm. too bad we can't see the rest of the temperament reports without paying!
  20. i've been thinking about getting the g14's myself. i think they're a great all-around "technical" crampon. a step above the sabretooths that way. (i think if you're looking for a comparable bd crampon, the bionic would be more similar - although it doesn't come in the newmatic style binding.)
  21. spectacular photo, dude! summits are sweet!!!
  22. loved your response, ropegun, but i find your pet names for rumr "curious" to say the least. here's my advice: place old screws with the cranks upslope; new ones cranks down. i haven't placed that many screws myself, but it would seem that history has proven both methods to some extent or another. hmm ...
  23. they are everywhere! someone on this board unknowingly turned me onto the particular site i got that one from, though. as for the thing, i don't know what to say. i'm sure they're not ALL bad!
  24. i beg to differ ... but i'm hoping somebody else will do it for me 'cause i'm about to get off work. ps - no via ferrata going on around here!
