what about this?: who the hell decided on some of these ugly ass colors at pattagucci? I demand answers and I want the truth! What are you hiding? Mattp - I think this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, everyone knows that anyone who uses the word "obsfucate" in a speech should not be trusted.

the jacket looks very similar in color and design to this one: and is a mens size medium. The underarms are kind of a blue or lavender color but the main body matches the photo. Colar is lined with some black fleece. It was the Cloudveil Veiled peak jacket and now that I'm shopping for a relplacement, I'm getting a little more angry, it was perfect for what I needed and has been discontinued. the pocket knife looked like this: and has a short leather shoe lace for a lanyard. I'm looking at spending about $200 to replace them and the guidebook so a reward would be tendered if the items are recovered. No questions asked, offer expires on May 30th.

Supposed to open this coming weekend, just in time for the Memorial Day hordes.

Andy Rooney said on 60 minutes a few weeks back: (for those of you that don't know Andy Rooney, he is a 82 year old US TV commentator) I like big cars, big boats, big motorcycles, big houses and big campfires. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some governmental stooge with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts for squirting out babies. Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game. I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE? I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion. I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens. Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door. I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling. It is the Law of Probability. I know what sex is, and there are not varying degrees of it. If I received sex from one of my subordinates in my office, it wouldn't be a private matter or my personal business. I would be "FIRED" immediately! I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry self if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines. I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation recount votes when needed. I know what the definition of lying is. I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them. I believe a self-righteous liberal, or conservative with a cause, is more dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude. I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you. It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!" "I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me french fries! I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else. And if you don't like my point of view, tough. and

Sweet! Sounds like every man's fantasy! On the grade you forgot how many times you had to take a fresh dip. There should be some acknowledgement of that, God forbid one should run outa nicotine on a climb of that nature.

Large male cop is cuffing a bad guy who is laying face down in a parkinglot. Female cop is "covering" the bad guy with a gun pointed in his general direction while Male cop stradle's the bad guy to cuff the other arm. POW! Female cop's gun goes off shooting the parking lot about 6" from bad guy's head. DOH! I wonder if she's related to Larry da tool?

http://www.ops-se.com/Videos/Negligence.mpg the guy getting cuffed must have crapped his drawers!

Good tip, frozen cannisters are wack!

Old sneakers are adequate for now, she won't be doing anything radical (requiring sticky rubber) for a while. There are some kids rock shoes but, at the rate the feet are growing, I can't justify buying them. You can get the resole kit's and put some sticky on the sole of the old sneakers as an alternative, but, like I said, unless the kid is really into it, plain old sneakers are fine for up to 5.6 or so.

this here is kinda the standard design and a decent price http://www.acmeclimbing.com/html/harnesses.html eh, or the same thing wdietsch said.

Yep, we took our bikes but the road was only plowed to mile 2 on saturday morning. But, don't feel too bad for us, there was a group of ski mountaineers from Calgary there to do the Emmons also, they had to walk the first 2 miles in ski boots then skin to the White river campground in kinda cruddy snow. There is currently 2-3' of snow at the campground. One of the Canadians mangled his feet getting to the campground so that's where they camped. On sunday durring the walk out, we were greeted by a snow blower clearing the road all the way to the Campground so we were able to walk on asphault, which we decided was better than postholing the 4 miles to our bikes. I feel sorry for the guy with mangled feet who probably had to walk the 6 miles on the pavement in his ski boots. Ouch!

I also used one this weekend to melt snow with a MSR blacklite pot (thick aluminum base and painted black) I had chunks of ice turned into 2 quarts of full on boiling water within 5 minutes. Temp was 20-25 degrees, elevation 6,000' with gusty wind. I had stored the cannister inside my coat for 10 minutes prior and placed the stove and pot in a small snow pit to serve as a windbreak. We also used the pocket rocket in the morning to heat some water for coffee under the tarp we used for a shelter. I thought it worked pretty good. However, on both occasions, I used a small plastic lid from a peanut butter jar as a stove base, with a little water in it as I had seen recomneded to help keep the cannister from freezing up. Both times, the water froze the plastic lid to the bottom of the cannister. I'm not sure if this method is supposed to be used in conjunction with a heat exchanger to keep the water warm, but in those conditions, it didn't seem to help, although I must admit, the flame was constant and hot just not sure the water in the lid was helping and may have been causing the cannister to be colder than it might have been otherwise.

To: Driver of grey or silver Toyota (or similar) mini van with gear box on roof who climbed the R & D route on Icicle Butt today as a party of 4 (3 guys and 1 female). Re: Return of jacket and contents in pockets. Sir or Madam: Today one of the people in your party removed my Jacket from the base of the climb. It was stashed in or on a bush near your addidas shoes, Chalcos, black clogs, black sweater and black & green Black Diamond rope bag. I request you contact me to return the jacket and contents of the pockets by May 30. No questions asked if the Jacket, guide book and pocket knife are returned.

Isn't Mt. Baring in the N. Cascades? How did those north facing gullies up the South Peak look? Any snow/Ice left?

Greg W and I went in to Glacier Basin Saturday. Deep unconsolidated snow and windslabs encountered above that elevation (7,000') as you would expect given the unstable weather on Friday and Saturday. Strongly recomend taking snowshoes/ski's until bootpack established. Like Gator said, good looking snow cover on the upper mountain but some area's of windswept ice was visible on the Emmons.

I wish I was a weekend warrior. I'm just a gaper! out.

The white river entrance to the park isn't open until next weekend so, it's not very likely anyone has recent conditions, but we will wait and see if someone proves me wrong.

Trango Alpine Equalizer- is it just a gimmick?
Bronco replied to catbirdseat's topic in Climber's Board
read this article: YOU WILL DIE IF YOU USE THE "DEATH X"!!!!!! anywho, Mark Twight says to use it so I say"OK!" unless......I think one of my anchor pieces may fail , then I use a cordolette with a figure 8. I wonder why Mark Twight thinks the death x is ok to use on sketchy alpine anchors? -
How would it handle a descent of the Muir Snowfield?

All you need to do is take another wrap or two on your prussic to increase friction. On job sites in this state, you used to be required to have 3 wraps on your safty line where I'm finding climbers will commonly only use 2. I like thin prussic's with four wraps where the load won't be dynamic.
