  3. Washington Prisoner Uses Fake Gun to Escape Monday, June 23, 2003 TACOMA, Wash. — A prisoner facing a life sentence made a fake gun out of paper and cardboard and escaped from a courtroom Monday. Harold McCord (aka erik snyder) used the fake gun to threaten guards, then shed his jail clothes and hijacked a pickup truck (prolly neked), sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said. He was in the courtroom for a motion hearing and his handcuffs and shackles had been removed. McCord (really snyder) faces a life sentence under the state's three-strikes law that requires life terms for people convicted of three violent offenses. McCord's (it's erik) record included kidnapping and assault (with a feather duster), Troyer said. "He knew he was going to be going for life in prison, so I'm sure he was very desperate," Troyer told Northwest Cable News.

  5. Did he appologize before or after you cornholed him? Hey, keep your sick redneck rituals off our thread!!! hehehe - I think he was doing a "kneel and bob" job on his partner, but I wasn't going to check it out. Just not sure why someone would first proclaim you should camp somewhere not right next to him, then, after you set up right next to him, give you some weed. Seems like he was attempting to utilize some reverse psycology initally then get you stoned and move in for some lovin.

  8. The only thing newsworthy on this subject is Mattp's strong arm tactics. Here's what I read: Some mountain climbers sat out bad weather for a few hours and called the rangers a couple times. whoopidy doo.

    Cold Feet

Even cheaper than the Climb High VBL socks are oven bags from the grocery store. I've used a single pair for up to 3 days with no holes, I think they cost about a buck per bag. But, make sure you dry your feet out at the end of every day to avoid contracting "swamp foot".

    YATES

might try Feathered Friends, I bought a couple yates pickets from them last summer.
  11. Everwet has some of the seediest, mankiest, just flat out nasty bar's in the united states. It's almost like stepping into a 3rd world country at some. Drinker beware!
  12. It just proves what most men believe, if a woman wants sex, you'd better give it to her.
  13. Quitcherbitchen, at least you're not this poor bastard.

Hey, I hope you guys don't think I was being critical, like I said, I have no idea how much gear one needs to bring on Denali, your loads just SOUND heavy to someone who's only been in the Cascades and roadside stuff in the Rockies and I was interested to hear how you felt now about how much you brought, hindsight's 20/20, blah blah blah. Sounds like you guys brought enough stuff to be comfy and not suffer a whole lot, half of your party saw the summit, you guys all enjoyed the trip and that's the whole point! I appreicate your feed back. Might head up there myself in a few years.
  17. Cripes almighty! What the hell do you guys think the FA was wearing on all of those peaks? I don't think you'll die or loose any toes if you wear your Sundowners but, like GregW said, keeping them dry for 16 days of wallowing in snow will be an issue.

Nice Trip report, sounds pretty close to an epic. Great job getting your injured partner down safely. I don't know much about Denali but your loads sound excruciatingly heavy. Were your loads pretty standard for that route or could you get by with less gear? Reading the trip report reminded me of those old Alaskan settlers going over Chilkoot pass with massive loads, day after day, after day...
  19. I guess it would solve the problem with my computer uninstalling my mouse driver twice a week.
  20. I've had the same experience hiking on Mt. Persis. We learned later that they were looking for some lost hiker. Well other than that, how was your climb?

    Size matters?

Go to either Pro-Mountain sports or Feathered Friends right away. Don't go back to REI until you have tried on several packs and buy the one that fit's you best, I know from experience that there are some REI employees who don't know a hydration pack from a hiking boot.
