  1. You probably won't be able to tell if the schrund will be bad until May, it really depends on how the weather plays out this spring. The schrund was still pretty straight forward on June 6th this year and once it was overhanging, I read that some parties simply went around it instead of spending a bunch of time aiding up it, so keep that option in mind if it is sketchy. Personally, I'd take the synthetic jacket and like Bug said, the avalanches would concern me most in May. Have fun.
  2. I've seen where people just use a pair of plastic ankle cuffs over their leathers. Aparantly it's effective to a certain degree.
  3. What's stopping you now, champ? Can't find your needle nose pliers? I'm busy stickin you mamma this afternoon. She likes the needle dick Is that you dad?

  5. Is this back in the same drainage as the Kromona Mine? I was back there a few years ago and don't remember seeing anything like that. How tall is the wall?
  6. I'd probably spend my time creating avatars to post on here since I'd be the only poster.

    Crap Movies

Yes. I laughed my ass off and so did our 5 year old.
  8. RIGHT ON!
  9. So basically, any old pack with ice axe loops? Any particular size you are looking for? Here are a couple I like- Arcteryx Khamsin 38 - carries great, bungy crampon attachment with patch. BD Zippo Pack 27 - drop in crampon pouch, nice and compact for climbing in.
  10. I've skied on downhill bindings in my leather mountaineering boots. No control whatsoever, but, you can get down the hill. I went up on some Alpine Trekers. Lace those boots up as tight as possible for the descent!!!
  11. No way. Nothing can smash a rain crust that extends to the ground. Not even a Ninja who totally flips out. He could chop and stab all he wants but will make very little progress exept for big blishters on his hands.
  12. How about a good solid rain crust like the one that should form everywhere under 6,000' in the next couple of days? Hmm? What's going to smash that Mr. Prognosticator?
  13. Good call Tony! http://www.seawfo.noaa.gov/products/SABSEA
  14. I've used a method I haven't seen mentioned yet so here it is: Screw a 1 1/4" drywall (or other) screw straight into cork until there is just enough space between the head of the screw and the cork to fit the claw of a hammer, use the hammer to pull the cork & screw. Or just push the cork in.
  15. Closures on Mtn Loop Hwy- More info here: http://www.heraldnet.com/Stories/03/11/16/17709628.cfm

    blocking pm's

I drank a bunch of coffee and have this great idea - how about if you see a PM from someone you would "block" you just delete it instead of reading it and responding to it. Yeah, Yeah! That's the ticket!

    VETRANS!

Yep, we can always use more oil, er, I mean rid the world of another "brutal dictator". PS: Thanks to all of you for crapping all over what was a cool tribute (for all of 2 posts) to vetrans with your political b.s. you hosers! TAKE OFF!
  18. I have 2 @ 24" Yates pickets which I would buy again if I were looking. Feathered friends is where I bought them. I think PMS has even lighter pickets made by CM. Yates 24" picket is around 10oz and looks like this:

    VETRANS!

Then a little later, ...which seems like contradicting statements since nobody really disputes the fact that Saddam was a "brutal dictator". Or was it all a conspiracy by the "right winged media" and he's really just misunderstood.
  20. Shoe tree in East CA on HWY 62. Looks like somone burned it a while back and more shoes have shown up since. My wife wouldn't let me set it on fire again
  21. bouldering in J-tree.
  22. None of you hosers got this?
  23. Thank you. After reading sobo's post, I thought mine was lacking an important element.
  24. I agree there's tons of easier cracks in the Icicle Creek area.
  25. Two words for your hammies: HEAVY DEADLIFTS. I always had tight hamstrings (from a lot of running and not a lot of stretching) until I started doing deadlifts and now I can touch my toes pretty easily.
