Evil Dragon, devil dog of Ballard [ 01-18-2002: Message edited by: jules ]

My puppy (hey, chrisw, post that shot of "evil" Dragon!), a panaroma of the Olympics, panaroma of Rainier, photos from Rainier, Adams, Neskowin Beach in Oregon, mountain biking at Ebey's Landing and Fort Casey on Whidbey Island, and various secret shots of the nefarious visitors to cc.com pub club.

Don't want to burst any bubbles but...... Moonstone - owned by Pacific TrailPacific Trail - owned by London FogPatagonia - uses cheap labor in El Salvador (and probably elsewhere)

OK, I'm giving another thumbs up to the Bibler (El Dorado OR I-tent). It is approx 4 lbs, and so I have carried it even when I don't have a tentmate. I don't know of any single-man tent that is as bomber as the Bibler two-man and weighs as little and feels like I'm sleepin' in a condo at camp (when I'm tent-mate-less). I used a Bibler El Dorado at Camp Schurman during a sleet storm a couple of years ago..... held up great, no condensation, leaks, etc. Pricey, though, and the vestibule is sold separately. [ 01-10-2002: Message edited by: jules ]

Trip Report: Fear and Loathing at the Latona Pub

Let "Uncle Tricky" do it while I go get my comedy transplant. - "Dwayne" (I'm only "Dwayner" when I'm funny.) Dwayner, sweet Dwayner, never meant to offend you. So, at the risk of offending Tricky, I divide my vote. Of course, if I lived in Florida, I could vote twice. Or just turn in a ballot with semi-pregnant chads. -

I second the motion. Especially since he called me "lovely." -

The Dept of the Interior discovered that their website, which runs the entire NPS's sites, was too vulnerable to hacking by terrorists or some such thing. They took the whole thing down, pending further notice.

Name that Crag (Pub Club's Extreme Rock Climbing)
jules replied to chris_w's topic in Climber's Board
Pub Club Crag? I want one of these for my office..... oh, wait, I already spend too much on this site, another distraction probably isn't a good idea. [ 01-09-2002: Message edited by: jules ] -
I've never seen nor heard coyotes in the Cascades, but I guess that's probably what got one of my cats back when I was living in Bellevue. I have heard them howling in the Eagle Cap Wilderness in the Oregon Wallowas.

Dwayner, my friend, extremely well said. And perhaps Courtenay can help verify this, but when I started playing women's lacrosse at the ripe old age of 34, I was informed by our team trainer that the human body doesn't even reach muscle maturity till the early 30's. Sincerely, Jules, well on her way to.... ummm.... err.... 41.

I was there last Saturday and Sunday to just above Pan Point. Snow to the parking lot, you can keep your board(s) on the whole way if you're careful . They probably haven't had much new this week, it might be crusty, but softened up nicely in the afternoon over the weekend (snow level had risen to 9000').

ehmmic and gang, I've missed partyin' with you guys the last couple of weeks, and, alas, have something else to get done tonight..... Have a great time, hope to join you soon. Pray for snow!

I start thinking we must have stumbled into some kind of Twilight Zone. So far nothing really tragic had happened, but I had a sudden sense of foreboding that it might. I mentioned this to Kristi, but she was digging in her pack, realizing that she didn't really have to be naked, she had a black plastic garbage bag that would be a great makeshift, uh, shift. She muttered something like, "Buck up, you wuss," so I summoned what lightheartedness I could and turned to continue up the trail. I was startled by a sound that at first I thought was a crack of thunder, but no...... it was the crack of a croquet mallet.....

Climbed several little inclines on singletrack on the Olympic peninsula. First time on my mtn bike in 5 years, it was great! Forgot how fun it is to get muddy and fly down rollers, banking off the turns.

Lisa, I can come up to B'ham Friday Sept 7th!

My sis and her boyfriend and I had a great system while roadtripping through Montana in May: driver gets to choose music; front passenger has to change CDs and stay awake with driver; back passenger (having just rotated from "driver") gets to sleep. Worked awesome!

Sounds like another rousing good time at pub club.... sorry I missed it this week, I promise to try to make it next week! As for the thickness of wool socks, Dwayner, well, that would depend on a lot of things.........

I haven't been to the Muir snowfield recently, but I'm thinkin' that if one falls on the Muir snowfield, one ain't slidin' anywhere anyway.

What the..... ???? I wondered why the Blistex I had come to know and love tasted funny. And now that pope and Dwayner have fessed up that they are indeed two separate people, Donna should join the truth-party and show up at the next pub club. Donna?
