    Tacoma Pub Night

The Old Town Alehouse in old Ballard? No pool, but they got one of them shuffleboard thingies.
  3. Ballard Alehouse at 7PM sounds great to me... or 6:30PM.... or 6PM....
  4. Hey, guys, Office Space indicated the Old Town might be too pricey? Is that what you meant, OS? What about the Triangle Tav in Fremont?

Wow! I'm in Ballard, too! How cool is that? Might see you guys in Tacoma next week......
  6. I think all of the things you listed are common weight-adders that can be left behind. I shelled out the cash for a really lightweight pack (Arc'teryx Khamsin) and appropriate temperature down bag. I also leave the Thermarest behind, and carry a 3/4 Z-rest. But then I am short, so 3/4 is ok.

    work!?

I'm a market planner at an outdoor recreation company. Can you guess which one?
  8. I was there this weekend, 7th and 8th. We camped at the Lunch Counter, leisurely 2 day ascent. I have been up the road when it has been worse, the ruts were manageable at 10:15PM. The Cold Springs parking lot is competely melted out. Extremely little snow to the Lunch Counter (read "nasty scree climb"), nice snow conditions from there to the false summit and on to the summit. Fantastic glissade from the false summit all the way to the rocks just above the Lunch Counter, esp if you wait to go down (like we did) after it softens up a bit (we left the summit at noon, were back at L.C. approx 12:45!).

  10. Does anyone know of some good bouldering in Glacier Natl Park? I'll be there next week. ------------------
  11. I've got the Khamsin 30 and love it. It's really comfortable and hardly weighs anything. I've used it on plenty of day trips, including up to Muir several times, and it looks brand new. No rips or anything.
  12. I just heard from Mike in Talkeetna this morning. He's returning to Mt Rainier Monday, April 23, so if you have input, use email not USPS. ------------------
  13. My vote is for the Lowa Civetta as well. Jim at Pro Mountain Sports was great about helping to fit them specifically to my feet/legs.
