Or maybe it could also be hard on all sides what about peaks in Antarctica where pretty much every direction is north when you are near the pole.
  4. glaciers dig out big holes out of mountains called cirques and cirque headwalls make steep faces. also between two cirques makes a ridge and when you cut away cirques on multiple sides you gettum steep horn. like Steinbok with Steep NE buttress between NE and N faces and the Sw side is gently sloped. on the other hand when you dont get a cirque you tend to have more of a gentle suirface caused by the natural processes of erosion filling in holes and reducing the heights of cliffs. so its rarer to get steep faces on S and SW aspects although obviously you do sometimes, like Eg Cathedral Mountain S face again that is part of a cirque with the other side being the N face of Amphitheatre.
  5. Queen Creek, ~70 miles east of Phoenix, has rad tuff bouldering. There is granite up by Scottsdale-Prescott area too. I suggest you check out www.rockandroad.com if its working or go into a climbing store when you are down there.
  6. Read a 3rd year level Geomorphology textbook. Here is a hint: something like 60% of cirques in the Canadian Rockies have an east, northeast, or north aspect. What mysterious geomorphic processes could be affected by temperature and aspect
  7. I think I told you this already but dont forget the north island Volcanoes which are similar in nature to the Oregon cascades. Except they have geysers and cool stuff. Ruapehu was very fun.

    CC wierdness

just because a climber is a girl does not automatically make them cool. there are just as many sketchy chics out there but because of the gender imbalance they can always find single climber guys to overlook their sketchiness and if they ditch one they have 3 more clamoring for the position. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  9. If you like your life dont do this

  16. A friend of a friend was on top of Weart when the cairn fell over on her injuring her leg... after limping the 4 hrs out to the car (it would take me at least 5 unijured) she went to the hospital and was told her leg was broken and she had been at risk of the break severing her femoral artery, if it had happened while she was walking out she could have died in minutes or something you gotta watch out for those breaks you dont know about, oh and the scary cairns that attack you
