  2. there are no fully bolted crag routes in the alpine in bc.... even yak is a gear route except for the crux pitch of reality check. however stairway to heaven on the chief is a 16 pitch 10b sport rig, albeit with ledge walks between some of the pitches.
  3. probably 75% of clips with quickdraws when cragging, and 25% when alpine climbing.... and about 5% directly into the cam sling in both situations

    Calgary Halloween

Some Calgary-area kids get unpleasant Hallowe'en 'treat' CALGARY (CBC) - Children who went trick or treating in the Strathmore-Strathford area Monday night are being asked to check their goody bags, after reports that some ghosts and goblins were given a small bag of feces. RCMP Const. Doug Taylor says a number of parents have called to complain about the trick their youngsters received. "Unfortunately, the kids didn't notice at the time, so we're not sure which house was giving it out," Taylor said. "We don't really consider it a prank, because there is some health issues here, with throwing this in with food children are potentially going to eat." He says it's up to parents whether they discard all the candy their children collected. Taylor says the feces was in plastic bags. Anyone with information is asked to call the Strathmore RCMP or Crime Stoppers. "Mom, there's corn in my chocolate bar!"

    Bear love, part II

Old Man Marries a Young Woman After marrying a young woman, a 90-year-old man told his doctor that they were expecting a baby. "Let me tell you a story," said the doctor. "An absent-minded fellow went hunting, but instead of a gun, he brought an umbrella. Suddenly a bear charged at him. Pointing his umbrella at the bear, he shot and killed it on the spot." "Impossible!" the geezer exclaimed. "Somebody else must have shot that bear." "Exactly," replied the doctor.
