rappelling using a munter hitch is about the dumbest technique there is anyways. there is direct rope on rope friction producing both kinking and accelerated rope wear. i'd rather use a #6 tricam as a rappel device.

Hey Dru, did you realize that the more people you put in a room the cheaper it gets? The limit of the price per person as the number of people approaches infinity goes to zero! Imagine that! refers to style (flophouse) not price. However, you are technically correct. However, I am willing to pay a small but finite fee not to tay in a room with an infinite number of other people. Also there is an extra person charge of $5/person after 2, which will prevent convergence on $0. With a large enough number of ppl in one room the price would converge on $5. However, the building code would tend to prevent such convergence and in fact will create an asymptotic limit to the price per person.

yeah simon yates was there a year or two ago with a crew. other trips have been by gordon wiltsie and there have been some chilean expeditions too. in addition to AAJ there was a piece in National Geographic a few years ago. Basically the weather sucks and the routes are all involving steep rime and so on. Take lotsa pickets is the only apparently pertinent info; and extra food cause the boat might not be able to get back in to get you if its storming really badly.
