  1. Thanks for the photo of the Dry Creek Route! It looks even better than when we were there.
  2. What John linked to is a pretty close representation of what's up there now, at least from what I saw.
  3. That hannah. She's a feisty one
  4. So, how high did you go? So, how high did you go? Ha. Ha. That would be the white dragon? I hear he's a fisty one.
  5. Armchairs are like snowboarders, always losing things in the cracks, smell funny and never seem doing much other than sittin. Oh. Look there? A penny. I just sent this to you sky. You sure read it fast!
  6. Holly crap, Sky. When I was sitting home Sunday, and looked outside, I thought, "Shit I should'a joined Sky," but then I thought, "Hell, he's just getting the approach down." I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the photos. In one of them, I can see there's plenty of more work to be done. Anyhow, I got my goods on the NE Face of Big Four last weekend. I'm not jealous Okay, I am. Nice pic too, Ross. I've had that one on my list for a long time too.
  7. It was good! We skied the Dry Creek Route (which is the NE Face I guess). Thanks for the pictures and answer, Klende...looks like I don't have an excuse to go back now. Edit to add: Yeah right, Justin.
  8. It was deep last weekend. It's gonna be really DEEEEEP this weekend but, hey, you never know. I didn't think that it would be any good last weekend. BTW mike, do you know the answer to my question (which is the true summit)? I guess I could really care less, but I was curious...that way if I didn't summit the right one it would give me an excuse to go back .
  9. I was up on top of Big Four last weekend. I'm curious to know which of these points is considered the true summit (if it can even be seen):
  10. I have some here for you http://cascadecrusades.org/misc/winter06/Untitled-1.htm
  11. Right on! Views of the route on the way in were nice...such a great looking route.
  12. Powder is good. Here is a patch on eldorado a few years back. BTW nice TR. Such an awesome place.
  13. I took some route shots that I'll post here when I get them back. One of the route we skied (oppisite from the ice cliff)if you're interested and another of the Ice cliff from the ridge top...closer up than phil's.
  14. Nice work! I was in the enchantments for a few days also. Very nice weather and good snow on sun exposed south faces but poor conditions on north aspects. Seemed like a lot of snow down low, but not much up high due to all of the wind.
  15. Ah, that's what I needed to get my lazy ass to sit up in my chair and put a grin on my face. Here's another view of the N. Face after it hosed me last winter. You can see it in the background with a lot less snow. I can't wait until spring :
  16. Do you need to enter a lottery to kayak down the salmon?
  17. I don't know what the shop scans photos at. The files are big but the quality isn't there. The Nikon scanner does far better and gives a very realistic representation of what's on the actual slides. I only use the ICE feature, but on very old photos tried the other features on the scanner. This thing can do some amazing stuff.
  18. Thanks, I thought the alpenglow was amazing that day but I only had a roll of fugi 50, so I couldn't capture it like I wanted. The powder shots I linked were from Sunday. I can't wait to get the rest of that roll done.
  19. You're right, my photo is blown out. I really didn't think before I posted. I bought a new scanner, a nikon Coolscan V. I'm pretty excited. Until yesterday, I had the shop do their scans for a few bucks a roll. Here is a comparision of the shot I posted: Shop: http://cascadecrusades.org/SkiMountainee...couloirking.JPG Nikon Scanner: http://cascadecrusades.org/misc/New%20Folder/joshcouloir3.jpg Here's some stoke. http://cascadecrusades.org/Untitled-6.htm ps the nikon scan looks like the actual slide. The picture is still a bit off.
  20. You crack me up, Sky. I wish I could've joined you, but armCHAIR ski mountaineering will have to do for now
  21. Nice work Jon! I really like the photos.
  22. Not a problem, Jay. I especially liked the stories. Some very good points made.
  23. You may find this thread useful http://www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=12768&highlight=unplanned+bivi Or not...
  24. Mowich Glacier this July Park Headwall this August
  25. For Skiing: Here is a picture from this past weekend on Cadet Peak: My brother skiing down the upper couloir near sunset. For scenery: Looking at Mount Daniel from one of the multitude of lakes that make up the Alpine Lakes Wilderness this summer.
