STORER Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Since there are all those commercials out there marketing SUVs to climbers, I was wondering what kind of car(s) do you guys have. I have a Subaru Impreza RS. Great car, it can handle anything I can dish out and it dosen't feel it's going to tip over when I go around a corner. Steve Quote
thelawgoddess Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 what color is it? what's the license plate number? where do you park it at night? and how often do you leave your climbing gear in the trunk? Quote
STORER Posted November 1, 2002 Author Posted November 1, 2002 I always keep my rock climbing gear in my car. I guess I should remove it, but most people don't even know what it is. I doubt your willing to fly to Cleveland to steal a harness, rope and a small rack of pro. Steve [ 11-01-2002, 10:55 AM: Message edited by: STORER ] Quote
iain Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 the secret is to own a huge monster truck with a rainbow sticker on the back and a gunrack in the window. tends to cut down on the break-ins Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 '97 Subaru Legacy Wagon with custom bullet hole. The gun rack is soon to be installed. Does anyone know if you can put a gun rack on the rear side window of a legacy? Quote

bobinc Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 I'm sure Yakima will sell you such a rack for the low, low price of $99.99. Quote

Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Real sport climbers drive 2002 Subaru Legacy L wagons, with after-market 6-disc CD changers. A fine automobile! Quote

He'll be carrying unloaded per Washington State Law, which requires weapons to be unloaded during transport (unless you have a CWP and you're carrying). Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Oh. Well, "carry" on, then! Ah ha ha ha ha! Quote

[/QB] I was directly addressing the Col.'s actions, honey. In my brief interactions with him, he seems like a law-abiding type dude. For a Subaru, I would suggest a 9mm which rests quite handily underneath the driver's seat and is easily accessible; or so I've heard . Greg W Quote

allthumbs Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 While driving I carry my .45 in a cross-draw rig designed for autos. I can pull my piece and have the barrel in Mr. Carjacker's mouth in a nano-second. It's his move at that point. Quote

allthumbs Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Subaru Imprezza here. I have a PU for hauling wood and shit too. I really like driving my Sub. though, and if ground clearance is not an issue, it'll out 4 wheel the various 4X4's I've owned over the years. Quote
b-rock Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Ahhh Saabs... They were working in two of my favorite car technologies long before anyone else - heated seats and turbo. Quote
allthumbs Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Yep, I had a buddy that killed himself in a turbo Saab. That damn car was fast and furious. Quote
b-rock Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Hmmmm, my '88 9000T got 26 mpg highway, with a 2.0 liter engine... Quote
