tvashtarkatena Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Well, I'm about ready to roast my first Big Bird. This would be our 'extra' turkey from Thanksgiving. I'm not very motivated to do it right, either. Just want to get rid of it. Anybody want leftovers? Quote
sobo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Thought you said you had a 19-pounder for four pieholes? Who cooked that one, if not vous?? Quote
Dechristo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I'm more about the ancillary aspects of the feast: mashed potatoes w/good gravy, stuffing w/good gravy, cranberries w/good gravy, and dessert w/good gravy. Oh, and good gravy. Quote
ivan Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Anybody want leftovers? the wife made a bitching dinner of pho using leftover turkey last night - i kinda od'ed on the pepper sauce additives though and have been experiencing certain, um, issues this afternoon Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Turned out the 19 pounder was frozen. the outside was thawed in the store. Or something. Anyhoo, we panicked and ran out and bought another one (non-frozen). So now, I'm dealing with the frozen one. Which is thawed now. I think. Quote
sobo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 But who cooked the unfrozen one on T-day? That's the question, the answer to which enquiring minds want to know... Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 That would have been Colleen's job, and she made fine work of it. Actually, she did most of the cooking while I cleaned the place up and tried to fix, but wound up breaking, a 1941 toaster. Some guys watch the game.... My contribution was baking french bread, whipping the cream, and making coffee. I think I might have chopped something up, too. Quote
Dechristo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Answer at 2:24... [video:youtube] "...a great gravy..." Which, should also weigh the same as a duck. Quote
sobo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 "...a great gravy..." Which, should also weigh the same as a duck. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Johnny, tell Dechristo what he's won... Quote
