Bob Christler Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Where is the best place on this website to ask if someone has a snow cat rental for climbing Mt Hood. We are interested in climbing the night of 5.20 with 7 in our climbing party. Each cat holds 12 with equipment...and now it's $500 per trip! Thx Quote
genepires Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 why not actually climb? Just walk up the ski area. How far is this snow cat going to take you? How much time will it actually save? Is this even real? Me smells a troll. Quote
Bigtree Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Why not just take a helicopter and save yourself hassle of climbing entirely? Can't be much more than the cat. Quote
YocumRidge Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Is this even real? Me smells a troll. Yep, it is this time of the year. Again. Quote
Hugh Conway Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 http://www.cascadeadventures.net/misc/snow_cat_rental.htm BTW: you are a fat lazy fuck if you can't be bothered to walk to the top of the palmer Quote
olyclimber Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Bob, the best place to post this would be the partners section. I'll move your thread there. Quote
pcg Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) BTW: you are a fat lazy fuck if you can't be bothered to walk to the top of the palmer I agree. What really bothers me is all the wannabes that drive their car up to Tline before they start climbing. If you really wanna climb the mountain then start in Govy where the mountain starts. Geez! devan Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) lol, these posts made me laugh. Bob, climbing with the help of a snowcat from T-line hits a sore spot with most local climbers. I dont understand how you could climb the soute route and still feel like you accomplished much after getting dropped off like at 9000 plus feet. I guess if you got the money, might as well though right Edited April 21, 2011 by devan Quote
Gaucho Argentino Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Hei, please, do not be that mean with a fellow climber... BTW, I'm planning a Helo trip to the N Side of Mount Si, so we can do a first descent of the trail... any takers? GA Quote
RaisedByPikas Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Don't listen to the poor or cheap people. They are just jealous that they have to slog up A LIFT SERVED SKI AREA for an extra two hours in the dark instead of paying $20 each Edited April 22, 2011 by RaisedByPikas Quote
Gaucho Argentino Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Buddy, was just joking, anyone can do whatever they want in life... Still, the mountain was BEFORE they decided to put the ski area, I would personally climb the mountain, use the $20 for a pitcher . Hopefully no one will decide to put an ski lift to Camp Muir ... Quote
Dane Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I'm in for the $20.... I've done it the other way a few times and a cat sounds like more fun to me. Makes skiing down more fun too...since you don't have to ski or lug them up! I suspect most here leave a car on the road some where. I'd be more impressed if they walked to the mountain...and brought their tablet and the burnng bush as well Quote
el jefe Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 i think timberline sells a single ride ticket that would get you to the top of the magic mile for $15. much cheaper than the snowcat rental. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 BTW: you are a fat lazy fuck if you can't be bothered to walk to the top of the palmer or in my case a fat fuck even if I do walk it. :-) Quote
