j_b Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Our cultural media certainly doesn't show it. Quote
j_b Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Amir Afkhami, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at George Washington University's Medical Center, said that if the recent tenor of political rhetoric was the sole cause of Saturday’s shooting, similar outbursts of violence would likely be more prevalent. Another media deceit is that these outbursts of violence aren't prevalent, and becoming more so. true, and the more you point it out, the harder they try to ignore it. in other news: Gabrielle Giffords' Arizona shooting prompts resignations by Edythe Jensen - Jan. 11, 2011 06:29 PM The Arizona Republic A nasty battle between factions of Legislative District 20 Republicans and fears that it could turn violent in the wake of what happened in Tucson on Saturday prompted District Chairman Anthony Miller and several others to resign. http://www.azcentral.com/community/ahwatukee/articles/2011/01/11/20110111gabrielle-giffords-arizona-shooting-resignations.html Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 It's interesting to note that there were 10 death threats and acts of vandalism against members of congress who voted for the health care bill during the week following its passage. And no, that doesn't happen every week. Quote
prole Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Just good patriots apparently... September 28, 2009—Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), the Chairman of the Second Amendment Task Force in the U.S. House of Representatives, calls House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a “domestic enemy of the Constitution” at a health care reform town hall meeting. tvashtarkatena Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Yeah, I don't buy the bullshit that every tea party member is 'mourning this tragedy'. That's neither the sociopath's nor the fascist's way, and that movement is clearly both. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Read the responses to any news story about the shooting. Tea baggers are not only completely unapologetic; they rail against even the slightest criticism of their violent rhetoric and actions to date. Inability to be influenced, even by extreme events, is a reliable diagnostic indicator of sociopathy. Edited January 13, 2011 by tvashtarkatena Quote

Kimmo Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 are you trying to say tvashtarkatena is not "influenced" by events? events? which "events"? as an entirely impartial observer of events in this here spray forum, i'd say he has a rather tenacious bite on his own perspective, strengthened with a healthy dose of....perspicuity and writing skills. oh, and the sociopathy needed to post some 10,000+ times! did i say impartial? yes, that's right. Fairweather Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Writing skills? The poor guy can't form simple contractions and regularly fails to use pronouns properly. Whatever his personality disorder, it has clearly had a deleterious effect on his life and alienated him from those whose company he would otherwise enjoy. Borderline autism, I'd say. Asperger's at the very least. Unfortunately, it looks like we're all he's got. Quote
Kimmo Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 you two are much too close and co-dependent to have the ability to view each other objectively. plus, see my "ego" thread. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 As a sig, maybe. As a thread...not so much, apparently. Quote
