trumpetsailor
There are now two on concrete posts, in addition to the wall-mounted one that's been there for ages. The wall is a public park. Edited October 30, 2010 by trumpetsailor
genepires
why care about a camera if you are doing nothing wrong?
rob
Isn't that what GW said about his domestic spying program?
genepires
probably. I don't care about them listening to my phone calls too. What negative effect is there with the cameras pointing at the climbing wall?
Phil K
I've heard that they are collecting videos of really bad climbing action for the "Hey kids, don't do this!" portion of their Basic Climbing Course. Or, maybe they are having problems with people messing with the facility. I suspect they have other ways they'd rather spend their time and money than snooping on John Q. Public. KirkW
why care about a camera if you are doing nothing wrong? So what happens when I'm doing something "wrong" (whatever the fuck that means) but it doesn't have anything to do with their climbing wall? Just jumping in here but I assume they could press charges as it is their property and they would have evidence against you. Not that they would necessarily press charges. Or if it is a park as you say (I assume you're right here) then the state might be able to use the tapes as evidence against you, and the state loves to go after pot smokers like you. Lowell_Skoog
The climbing plaza is a city park. My guess is that the city put up the camera.
G-spotter
It's a webcam. Now you can log on and check out conditions at the Mountie Wall before your expedition departs! No more getting shut down by unexpected blizzards or hordes of topropers!
