stever Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I will be living in Squamish this Spring... Just wondering what are some places to bail to when Squamish gets a good dosage of rain. Leavenworth? Index? Smith? Prefer to stay within WA, but not go any further than south Oregon border. Interested in areas with easy-moderate trad (5.10+ and lower) climbs... I like variety, so the more suggestions, the better. I will be picking up a guidebook or two in the next week or so to further research the areas. Thanks! Quote
genepires Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 leavenworth is usually a good bad weather alternative to the west side. Quote

Wakaranai Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 If L-worth is rainy... check out Rocky Reach in Wenatchee. Across the street from the Dam. Looks scrappy and actually it is scrappy but some fun routes. Bring a rack. Quote

matt_warfield Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) Skaha, Leavenworth, Smith Don't pick too many. I know you like variety but getting to know any one of those locations well will fill up not only a spring but years of outings. All of these areas have many crags and subareas that reward knowledge of the area with great climbing and less thumbing through the book, scoping, and thrashing. stever Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Is it pretty easy to find partners on short notice in Leavenworth? I imagine Smith would be easy? Quote
