ivan Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 There were other people in the room, but I have no idea who they were or where they came from. Two words: Anita Fucking Bryant. She's still alive and well...witness the anti-gay marriage fight happening right now, thirty one motherfucking years later, in our very own state. THE CHILDREN!! second 35 of the following oughta please you then - strange that she hates fruits, but likes fruit pies? [video:youtube] Quote
Pete_H Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 So in other words our effort was doomed from the start. it might be true that its hopeless now, but i bet we could have made it work in 2002 if we'd been willing to put the level of resources in that we used instead on satan hussein - if we'd rolled the dice and come up w/ a 1 in a million statesman like gandhi it coulda gone too, but the hand we're holding now is plainly a loser so let's fold and go get a late dinner n' a fancy drink, eh? If only we had the army that we wish we had. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 What we need is Christian soldiers...a Christian army... Quote
JosephH Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 We should also not kid yourselves about one thing, which falls under the 'Darwin never sleeps' category - the principle outcome for our trillion dollars in Afhghanistan and Iraq has been the perfection of sophisticated IEDs and plasma weapons from cell phones, $5 dollar RC toys, and copper pans and, in turn, greatly enhanced asymmetric warfare tactics for third world countries. tvashtarkatena Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Hey, we got something out of the deal, too. Our prosthetics are better than ever. Plus, we've spent billions on perfecting the drones that we can now use for surveillance against our own citizens. And the selection of wrap arounds now...Wow! Quote
prole Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Yeah, but consider the private sector spin-offs: More advanced penile and breast augmentation and sick video games! Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I think it's high time we embrace the NEW CONSERVATIVE movement, ala folks like Pat Toomey, who (finally) advocate INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM, and FISCAL RESPONSBILITY... ...as long as we have a strong defense, have the state force women to have unwanted children and imprison those who don't, continue to put lots of black kids in prison for carrying small amounts of certain substances, and prevent 5 to 10% of our consenting adults from marrying the partners of their choice or enjoy the same rights as God -approved married couples. Oh, wait...that's been the GOP platform for at least 40 years, now. You've got to chuckle...Toomey's cost saving solution for a strong defense is Starwars. I shit you not. There really is no bottom to the abject stupidity of that party and its faithful. Quote
prole Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 No crystal ball here, but their version of Keynesianism is going to look more like China's and less like FDR's. Quote

Ponderosa Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 What's the official word on whether or not they get their 72 virgins? Yes, the guy awakes in the midst of a Star Trek convention. Quote
Ponderosa Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Here's some clear points you might actually grasp, but probably not: To dehumanize and oversimplify one's adversaries, particularly when they most likely will eventually prevail against our misguided efforts, is to be a dupe of the oldest and more overused state propaganda trick in the book. Of course, you're no stranger to being duped. As you, typically, stoop to pejoratives and ad hominem in all your arguments, it's clear who in personal practice is fallaciously duped and without grasp of his own assertion. carry on Quote
