General Zod Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 So Tvash is looking for help with A) welding and B) shooting interesting metal objects. My theory is he's planning on making some kind of metal armor or whatnot and then shooting it to see how well it works. (He thinks a shotgun is a good thing to have if you're being attacked by a tank so there might be some learning curve.) Have a theory about what Tvash is up to now? Post it here. Quote

Doug Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I'm guessing that he's hedging his bet on Obama winning. In the event that McCain wins, the materials being tested will go into the publicly funded construction of the new line of "Tvashie's Bomb Shelters". My guess is he's already been in prelimanary negotiations for the earmark. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Will it fly? Sure. Quite a few feet, I'd wager. Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I scrounged a big metal flange recently. Even 5% cobalt alloy drill bits won't scratch it. I think it migh be from another world.... Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 This seems to be a large pipe fitting of some kind, except there are no screw holes in it; about 3/4 to an inch thick, nearly 12" in dia, and about 12" high. It weighs about 50 lbs. Why would they make it so hard? I should test it for radioactivity. Quote
rob Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 hey, my cock ring! I've been looking for that. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 A hotty like yours, and you're doing a Baluchatherium on the side? Shame. Quote
hafilax Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 A bearing or sliding surface maybe. Is it hardened stainless steel? Carbide is about the only thing that will possibly drill that AFAIK. If you're skilled with a grinder you might be able to do something. I'm no machinist though. More of an amateur that has cobbled together a few physics experiments. Quote
rob Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 maybe you can ask John to bore through it with his alien heat vision Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 It's some kind of large pulley for a Cat. RFS (really fuckin hard stainless) probably. Anyway, I found a way to use it without having to drill it. Quote
