It is true that Colon Powell served our country with integrity and character, however acepting secretary of state was just a way to further his career. For the good General to cross party lines and vote for Barack Obama it is clear that he is voting for color instead of character or integrity. I am sorry that such a good General could sink so low. But I guess that color knows no integrity or justice only prejiducism.

I wont vote for Obama just because of his stance on guns. He believes in a total ban on handguns, weapons in homes and "assault rifles". This is the most telling about Obama's lack of understanding when it comes to the average citizen. I don't know what I am going to do on the 4th, but I sure as hell know what I wont do; vote Obama.

Really? I just went on Obama's website and looked up his stance on gun control. It says he believes that the 2nd amendment provides private citizens with a right to bear arms. "He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns." Link

This is a recent change to his thinking, back when McCain was up 5 points. Obama came out in support of the Supreme court decision to support the right to own handguns VS Washington DC on a case involving right to carry in DC. The previous 12 votes he voted to restrict, which reinforced his public stance as well. This may be why the NRA gives him and F and not an F- on this instance. BTW, I agree with Scott. I feel that having the public bear arms gives teeth to all the other "rights" like the "right" to a free press etc etc.

Of course in keeping with the tenor of this site, let me preemptively say, like everyone else does, that anyone who doesn't agree with my view is a dumb, stupid motherfucker with the brains of a pissant and no intelligence at all and can go fuck off in advance of them saying so.... have a nice day. :lmao:

Truthfully, I do not like either of them, and will write in Ron Paul as a protest vote.

Jebus, you are every bit as dumb as I thought. Squander a presidential vote for an avoid racists kook to stage a 'protest' no one will hear? What an assclown.

And, not only do you and yours lack even a rudimentary understanding of Obama's stance on guns, you elevate this fetish centric non-issue to your number one reason for voting? AKA gets a "young-and-stupid" bye, but you?

Look, I know you need a substitute for your retired penis, but Grow.the.fuck.up.

Assclown? Grow the F-UP? Speaking only for myself, your continual and unwarranted personal attacks are old, tired, unnecessary and angering. You should really consider how you talk to people. I'm looking forward to having a face to face discussion with you about this. I don't recall treating you with such disrespect and I don't appreciate it in return.

and sounds like Obama doesn't really have plans to change the gun laws...

and even if he did, he doesn't get to make the laws.

What, good guys get a bye for posting really stupid shit? Maybe my response will help to make bill a super duper good guy. His muddled thinking on this matter of import begged for a good slap upside the head.

I don't respect the 'protest vote' thing. It's just another way of avoiding a sometimes difficult civic responsibility in favor of standing on the sidelines to granstand about your own purity and piety. Vote for real: voice your opinion. Throw your vote away: STFU. If it hurts to hear that, tough.

Writing in Paul Ron is a "protest vote"?! WTF? To protest what? The Republicans have not been vigorous enough in deregulation? Shitting on the environment? Staytes Rahts? South not rising again fast enough?

When the prez campaign was just getting started I gave a few talks on the rise of the neocons. Progressive audiences mostly, as you can imagine (not alot going on with the ole' social calendar). I was surprised at how many dissaffected former Naderites (sell out!) were pushing Ron Paul flyers in that wild eyed, urgent way. They'd decided that they'd be more effective working 'within the system'. It was all I could do to stifle my laughter.

I imagine that some of these folks, after several more years of dissappointment (a perpetual condition with this crowd), will eventually settle on the bottom of the political abyss: Lyndon LaRouche.
