WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Did McCain ever stop to wonder if his multiple cancers and that head growing out of his face was caused by all those nuclear ships he was riding around on that he claims are clean?

what choice did they have, eh bitch?

Hmmm, that's a tough one. Let's see...maybe they could stop lobbing hundreds of rockets across the Gaza border every day? Stop blowing up buses, weddings, and pizza restaurants? Stop broadcasting children's programs that portray the murder of their neighbors as a positive attribute? Stop calling for the complete destruction of Israel? Return a kidnapped Israeli soldier? What ya think, eh punk?

Seems the rightwing political agenda machine that is Fox News is just trying to pin some tactless comment on Obama because it was said by someone who supports him.

Even the most observant of candidates isn't going to be able to keep track of what a double digit majority of the populace says or does.

For example, my asseration that Fairweather's got a rhino cock up his ass.

Quick, Obama: repudiate that!

McCain's schooling Obama for not repudiating John Lewis was a GAME CHANGER. We all know that McCain likes to 'play' the underdog...the more points behind he is the BETTER he likes it! But we didn't expect a coup de gra, coupe da grace, er, DEATH BLOW like the one he delivered last night. Then, to follow it up with an Ayer's insinuation. FUCK YEAH! America hungers for a strong leader who will track and demand repudiation for any statement made against him. Screw the economy; this is McCain's HONOR, which has NEVER BEEN QUESTIONED, we're talking about! Jesus, if Obama can cavalierly attack McCain's HONOR, what in the hell will he do to our economy?

Vote McCain/Palin...because John's honor is at stake.

JJ surely steped into the area of racism/bigotry/intolerance with his "himeytown" comment of years ago

He stepped into that arena days after he had MLK, Jr., killed.

Jews are still greatly excluded from the politics, boardrooms, and country clubs that run this country. They have clout in some areas like Hollywood and academics that they try to use as a voice, but I think you're greatly exaggerating Jewish influence in America.

I've been doing some math. My assertion that Jews are excluded from politics has been shot down, but I think an arguement can be made based on some numbers that the Jews in Congress do not explain US support for Isreal.

Ok 44 Jewish congresspeople out of 535 = 8.2 % Jews in Congress

According to wikipedia 2.1 % of the US population is Jewish (source) so Jews are over-represented numerically in Congress.

Now, of the 44, only 3 are Republicans. 2 are independants and the the remaining 39 are Democrats.

If Jews in Congress explained US support for Isreal we would expect the Democratic Party to be the bigger supporter of Isreal. But look at this:

[font:Fixedsys]

Gallup Poll: Sympathies With The Israelis or The Palestinians

Results By Party Affiliation and Ideology

2002-2006 Aggregate

..............................Israelis..Palestinians..Both/Neither/Don’t Know

Conservative Republicans.........78%........7%......14%

Moderate/Liberal Republicans.....62%.......16%......21%

Liberal Democrats................43%.......23%......33%

Moderate Democrats...............50%.......17%......32%

Conservative Democrats...........46%.......23%......30%

[/font]

(source)

Same data, better graph:

blog_579_2.jpg

Which seems to suggest stronger Republican support for Isreal, in contrast to more Jews being Democrats.

Not a perfect piece of statistics, so make of it what you will.

No, I'm not kidding.

I think the US's support for Israel is fucked up and I think we should cut back on it.

ps - Sarah Silverman is hawt.

Yes, we waste billions of dollars and piss off the Arab world with our support of that Church-State called Israel. Mostly because Jews in this country seem to give lots of $$ to just the right people.

US support of Israel is not some kind of Jewish conspiracy, you pile of steaming castrada. US supports Israel because they've been one of our staunchest allies in a region that otherwise hates our fucking guts. Support of Israel is, with a few exceptions, across the board in Congress, regardless of ethnicity. With the US winning the world's unpopularity contest lately, Israel's friendship has been more valued by our government than ever.

It's just not that hard.

Unless, of course, you're a moron.
